A loose or worn out gas cap can cause the check engine light to activate too.
Don't panic, it sometimes takes several days for the light to shut off, just make sure the cap is tight.

Truck will start but engine dies and service engine soon light comes on/truck was idleing fine for 10 minutes then began to hesitate then shut off when first happened

When the engine dies the Check eng light is supposed to come on. You need to do a fault code test on the OBD2 engine control module.

Don't let the car run out of gas. Fill the tank and run until the tank is half empty. Again fill the tank.
By driving until you run out of gas, you are letting sediments/dirt collected in the bottom of the tank to enter the engine. Rather they will block the fuel filter. Then gas will not reach the engine.
Clean the gas filter and your car will run fine.
The same advice again. Don't drive until the tank becomes empty.

you dont have a misfire, you have deeper problem with the electrical or fuel sender. Even so someone will need to get the code that is stored from the check engine light,,, to proceed.

Wont start

Try a new vent tube hose from the fill neck to the tank, sound to me like your tank is not venting. The next time it does this, stop, take off the gas cap for a few minutes and then it should restart,if it doesn't let me know.

Emisssion test failed with 0p410 code/fuel cap failed

The gas fillup should be clue, either the gas cap was not tightened enough or it is defective.

Fuel door indicator light remains on.

You may have one of the following.

A loose gas cap - remove cap and re-tighten again to see if light goes out (may take a while before light goes out)

A faulty gas cap - replace with a new one (shouldn't have failed yet if your car's only a year old)

A faulty fuel sensor only if your fuel level also shows as low (shouldn't have failed yet if your car's only a year old)

There's a vacuum leak somewhere (this would also trigger a check engine light)

2001 Nissan Altima with service engine light on

I would check your intake gasket. Get your self ome carb cleaner in a spray form/can and perfrom this test. Run the car and spray the carb cleaner on your intake gasket which is right by your injectors. So pretty nuch spray it at the injector rail and listen fot change in idle, If the idle changes, the intake gasket is torn and you are running lean, because of a vaccum leak. Common problem on your model car. Perform test and let me know what you find.
