Cruise controls are primarily electronic, yet do operate off vacuum line(s) as well. I had this situation on a 2000 Subaru legacy wagon.. where the airbag light also lit up - which was a sure indication that it is what's called the clock spring within the steering wheel. You'd have to remove the steering wheel to be sure, and I am not certain of how to test it, or if there are any tests one could perform on it. Best regards

it sounds like you may have a bad wire leading to your starter selenoied try replacing the wireing to your starter and when you make the connections put some dielectric greese on the connections to prevent carrsion
you may also have a bad relay replace it before you replace the wires to your starter
get a leak tast done first so you can be sure its the coil thats leaking some people assume because others have failed their's is the same/costing seems a bit high check theinternet for a price on a replacement coil first
