There is more than one flasher. One is for hazards and the other flasher is for directional signals. They are located under dash just left and right of the steering column. Don't go tearing up the steering column, then you are asking for trouble. Try the least expensive and labor intensive fix first.
check all bulbs, inspect sockets for corrosion, rust ,or sighns of overload.follow wires and check connectors if all good ,replace the flasher ,,if that doesnt fix it ,the blinker switch in the steering coulmn would be next
Should still be under warranty. If you have determined it is not a burned out bulb, let the dealer trouble shoot.
Some other things to check, from a wiring standpoint, does the right side emergency flasher work? Does the right side backup light work?
If these do not, I'd look for a connector to the right side of the rear that came loose. Haven't spent that much time under my 2009 (same model style), but I'd suspect on a jeep that physically following the wires to a connector would not be hard. Also could be a ground issue to the right side lamp housing.
The problem could be the wiring connecting to the lights, you need to check them for bare wires. Look them through for any metal hanging out of the rubber insulation. You may need to get new wiring.
have you checked the wire connections to the fround blinker??? when the wire disconnects from the blinker the back blinker blinks faster and the front one doesnt work at all
