Car codes are usually printed in your vehicle hand book or you can find out from a dealer of your model vehicle

1994 BMW 525 radio displays "CODE WAIT" after I put in the code numbers

You need to wait 1 hour before attempting to put the code in. Either the ignition needs to stay on 1 hour or drive it for 1 hour. If they key is turned off before then, you will need to start again.

How do i install a new radio

The process is very simple, just follow these steps and you'll be on your way to listening to your radio again. First of all don't think you need to unscrew anything. The wood panel surrounding your stereo snaps out by pulling on it or using a flat screw driver at the corners. Once you have taken the panel out, you can see that the radio is held in by 2 hooks. Push up and pull forward slightly. You don't have to pull out the entire radio because you can see the serial number on the top surface very easily. Write down the number next to where it reads s/n. Once you have the serial number, call the local dealership and give them your serial number. They will in turn give you a four digit code number that you will enter on your radio. One thing to note is that if you have entered the wrong code number 3 times, your radio would lock up and it would read "OFF". To unlock it, simply park your vehicle in a safe place and leave the radio on for about 1 hour (no engine running just click the ignition switch to operate the radio). After one hour, the radio resets and will ask you again to enter the code. start entering one number at a time using the first 4 buttons. Example, if your code is 4538, you would push button 1 four times to get to the number 4, you would push button 2 five times to get to the number five and so on.. After you have entered the correct code, push the CD button and there you have it.

Please help me to get the code number to unlock the radio for honda crv 2003

    • 1 Look in your owner's manual booklet for your radio anti-theft code. The code is printed on a small card (similar to a credit card) and included with your owner's manual. If you can find the code, skip to Step 5.
If you cannot find the code, you'll need to retrieve it.
    • 2 Turn your ignition off to begin retrieving your radio code. Press and hold the "1" and "6" preset buttons on your radio. Turn your ignition on.
    • 3 Write down the code displayed on your radio. The display will flash with two numbers: one beginning with a "U" and one beginning with a "L." Write down both numbers (beginning with the "U" number), and then disregard the "U" and the "L."
This number (eight digits) is your radio serial code. You'll need it to retrieve your radio anti-theft code.
    • 4 Contact Honda to retrieve your radio anti-theft code. You'll need your 17-digit Vehicle Identification Number, found beneath the driver's side of the windshield and your radio serial code. Honda's customer service number is (800) 999-1009. Provide the representative with the information to acquire your radio anti-theft code.
You can also retrieve your radio anti-theft code online for free at https://radio-navicode.honda.com/
    • 5 Turn your ignition to "Acc" or "On" to power on your radio. Enter your radio anti-theft code using the preset buttons at the bottom of your radio. For example, if your anti-theft code is "55512," you would press the "5" button three times, then the "1" button, then the "2" button. This will unlock and reset your Honda radio.

I have an Audi A4 1996 model year.. I have the radio code from the dealer.. I just don't know which buttons to push to unlock it.. I have already tried; RDS and FM2; FM1/2 and DX; FM1 and AM.. Any...

maybe this will help.....
the following steps must be carried out in the correct order:
  • Turn on the radio - the word "SAFE" appears in the display.
Press the FM 1 and AM buttons simultaneously and hold them down until "1000" lights up in the display. Release the buttons! Do not, under any circumstances, continue holding them down or press them once again. This would cause the radio to consider the number "1000" to be the input code number.
  • Use station buttons 1 to 4 to input the code number on your Radio Card. Use button 1 to input the first digit of the code number, button 2 to input the second digit, and so on.
For technical reasons, the first digit can only be a 1 or left blank. The following three digits, however, may be any number from 1 to 9 .
  • Once the code is shown on the display, press the FM 1 and AM buttons again simultaneously and hold them down until the word "SAFE" appears in the frequency display. Release buttons! Soon afterward, a frequency will be displayed.
  • Should you inadvertently input the incorrect code number in attempting to release the electronic lock-up, the word "SAFE" will appear in the display - first blinking and then continuous.

You can now repeat the entire canceling procedure once. The number of attempts will be shown in the display.

If you input another incorrect number, your radio will be locked up for approximately one hour . The radio will not play. Leave the radio switched on. After an hour, the display with the number of attempts goes out and you can cancel the electronic lock-up as described above.

This cycle - two attempts, one hour lock-up still applies.
Best to you.

Just bough the truck, the loc is on the radio.how can i unlock it. don't know the code for it. thanks for any help!

GM DELCO THEFTLOCK RADIO UNLOCK CODE:
1. Press and hold presets 2 and 3 for about 5 to 10 seconds until you
get 3 digits on your display. This is the first 3 of 6 digits you will
need, so write 'em down.
2. After doing step one and writing down the code, immediately press
the
AM/FM button to get the last 3 of the 6 numbers you'll need, and write
'em down. (if you wait too long between steps 1 and 2 and the LOC code
displays again, just start over).
3. Call this number, it's a prerecorded message, so don't worry about
having to talk to anyone...1-800-537-5140. The voice will ask if
you're
calling for Chevy, Pontiac, Cadillac, etc... When you here him tell
you
to press "2" for Pontiac, press 206010 and hit the # key. He'll ask
you
for the 6 digit code that you've written down. Enter that and press
the
* key. He will then give you a code, and the option to get additional
4
digit codes, but one should be sufficient.
4. Follow the normal procedure in your owners manual for unlocking the
radio with your new code...press the hour set button on your radio
until
you get the first two numbers of the code, then press the minute set
button until you've entered the last two numbers. Immediately press
the
AM/FM button once the correct code is entered and the code SEC or
"secured" will be displayed on the display screen. Now, just turn the
radio on, and your ready to roll.
There is an additional step you can take to remove all codes from the
radio and start from scratch by entering your own personalized 4 digit
code so that it won't get you in a pickle again! Just repeat step 4
and
you should get a display screen that reads ---. This means the code is
out, and you can now program your own code. Of course, once you
receive
the 4 digit code from the GM recorded message, just keep it in a safe
place, because you can use that same code again and again should you
have any more problems with it in the future. Good luck, and yes, it
does work.

If this doesn't work, you'll have to physically take the truck to a GM dealership, or purchase a new radio.

Radio does not work if I push the power button it says. Off

Turn ignition key to number 1 position. Turn radio on, and wait for readout in radio display to say code. This could take several hours, so make sure the car is in a safe place. When code appears, key in correct code (if you don't have it, get it from a Volvo dealer, you will need the vin # and proof that you own the car).

2000 GMC Safari, lost power to the vehicle. The radio did disply 'loc' and now displays 'InOP'. Please Help

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. If you fail to enter the correct code eight (8) times, the radio goes into INOP mode. You have to wait an hour with the ignition on before the radio returns to LOC mode (go for a long drive somewhere).

After that the the radio will go to LOC mode, then follow this procedure to unlock it—

To unlock the car radio - Have a pen and paper ready. Push and hold stereo preset buttons 2 and 3 simultaneously for several seconds. Three digits will appear in the display "XXX", write them down. Push the AM/FM button, three more digits will appear in display "YYY", write them down.

Press 1 then # (pound). You’ll hear “Invalid Code, try again”

Press 139010 then # (pound). You will be asked to enter your four or six digit code followed by * (start)

Enter the six didgit number obtained from above procedure.

Listen to the four-digit number and write it down. It will be repeated twice

Turn the ignition ON (The radio displays LOC)

Use the MN and HR buttons to enter the $ digit code that you have heard.

Press the AM/FM button. The radio display changes to SEC. Your radio is now “un-locked” and usable. The Theft-Deterrent feature is STILL active! If you want to disable it, use the instruction in Owner’s manual.

Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or else revert for further assistance.

Thanks

Radio

Good Day,

The following procedure will give you a new code that you can use instead of your personal code. Using this new code, you can “unlock” your radio and then “re-lock” it with a new code if you wish. Prerequisites: The radio must be in LOC mode NOT in INOP mode. Let me explain. If you have activated the Theft-Deterrent feature of your radio and loose power, the radio goes into LOC (theftlock) mode. With the ignition on, you must use the MN and HR buttons to enter you personal code in order to unlock it (The instructions are on page 3-27 in your Owner’s manual). If you fail to enter the correct code eight (8) times, the radio goes into INOP mode. You have to wait an hour with the ignition on before the radio returns to LOC mode (go for a long drive somewhere).

Procedure:

01. Turn the ignition ON (The radio displays LOC)

02. Hold down the Radio Presets 2 and 3 buttons for six seconds

03. The radio display changes from LOC to a three-digit number. Write this number down. Don’t take forever, fifteen seconds max before the next step.

04. Press the AM/FM button

05. The radio display changes to another three-digit number. Write this number to the right of the first one.

06. You now have a six-digit number, the first three digits are from STEP 03 and the last three digits are form STEP 05

07. Call 1 800 537 5140 08. Press 1 then # (pound). You’ll hear “Invalid Code, try again”

09. Press 139010 then # (pound). You will be asked to enter your four or six digit code followed by * (start)

10. Enter the number from STEP 6 then * (star)

11. Listen to the four-digit number and write it down. It will be repeated twice

12. Turn the ignition ON (The radio displays LOC)

13. Use the MN and HR buttons to enter the code from STEP 11

14. Press the AM/FM button. The radio display changes to SEC Your radio is now “un-locked” and usable. The Theft-Deterrent feature is STILL active! If you want to disable it, use the instruction on page 3-27 in your Owner’s manual. Use the code from STEP 11 instead of your personal code.

I hope this helps
