The front passenger window in my 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee will not work; it slides all the way down and when I press the window switch Ihear the motor click but nothing happens. How can I access the window mechanism? I have seen instructions for reoving the interior door panel, but it does not provide access to the window mechanism.

Maybe the gear in the mechanism is worn out
you need to remove the panel , unhook the wiring harness and remove the power window motor assembly to replace

This video shows you how to do the window regulator on the driver's side of your vehicle. Not much difference on the passenger's side.

SOURCE: air conditioner leaks (drains)into the front passenger seat floor mat

I had the same problem. Drilled a hole in the round plastic extension beneath the glove box, behind the carpet. Now run a coat hanger through it, followed by alot of compressed air. It may take several times, debri from above may be continuosly replugging drain. when you are done, clean thoroughly, and patch with hot melt glue. Good luck.

SOURCE: window motor replace 2001 jeep grand cherokee

You need to remove all the skrews from the door. Normaly there is one in the handle of the door, one behind the in door lach handel and one under the bump out for the arm rest on the door. Than you need to take a flat head skrew driver slowly priying the panel off. There are plastic clips on the backside of the panel it is ok if you brake a few.

1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo. The front left

Try the hazard switch.Do all the blinkers work? This may be a loose connection to the lamp. The window and lock system are on seperate circuits so very unlikely they are related. There is a seperate relay for the blinker and hazards,so a single blinker not working is either bulb or wiring.Widows are operated by motor so check the fuse, wires and and actuating switch. (Door trims off). Also check its not just jammed.Locks, check fuses, switch wires for damage or looseness and the actuator is working.Check the actu. rods are not loose are bent.(need the door trims off for this).Quite a few different things but hope this helps

Power window systems failing in past few months. 3 of 4 now dead.

before spending alot of money on windows motors, try to take out the switch in the door handle and spray contact cleaner in the switch.. sometimes if you use alot of armor all on the door panels it will work its way into the switch and make it dirty.

Right window will not roll down..

Did you meter the wire at the master switch? If so and you have power the switch is bad, if not you have a short in the wire.

Replace front passenger power window motor

not hard at all remove the door panel and you will see 5 bolts with a slot so you do not have to remove the bolts just loosen them. There is 2 clips that hold this to the window remove them. The hole thing will come out. Look on E Bay buy a new window regulator $40.

Check the wiring between the drivers door and the A pillar(the body of the car). Sometimes the harness breaks from opening and closing the door.
