I would suggest a transmission repair shop.
Just make sure you have yours taken apart and repaired
I say that, because it is very common to have a shop buy a used unit and install. You believe yours was repaired or you got a new one.
Put markings on your case, and be at the repair shop a couple days later.
Go inside to the repair bench and see the repair in progress.
I used to own a shop,so a fair warning. Be part of the solution and educate yourself. There are good shop out there. Just don't agee to anything. You dictate what you expect to be done. The isn't much to go wrong in there.
If I missed the question.
Just change the fluid every three to five years.
Your owners manual,a call to the dealer, better yet walk in the back door of the repair bay and ask a Ford Tech your questions.

The SERVICE 4WD indicator is located in the instrument panel cluster (IPC), and shares the common power and ground of the IPC. The transfer case shift control module controls the service indicator by sending the IPC a Class 2 message. This indicator may be controlled with the scan tool using the IPC device controls.
You should take it to the dealer an have it checked for DTC'S -diagnostic trouble codes
