Most common cause is rear pads sticking (rust) and when you move, it has to break the rust from the rotor, hence the grinding noise.as long as it only does it when you start moving or turn first thing do not worry.....

2003 dodge ram 1500 4x4 rear end squeks when turning formard and back only in turns you can hear the sound raadiate out through the wheel hubs

What is the rear diff fliud like? Is it full? Have you inspected the brakes, and if so, what have you found. As far as the u-joints go, get under the vehicle and see if you have free play in the joint area. Grab hold of the drive shaft and turn it back and forth (engine off of course and parking brake applied), and see if there is excessive play. Is there evidence of rusty coloration around the caps of the u-joints? Hard to say what the exact cause is from a chat.

2004 dodge ram 2500 5.9 cummins 4x4 four door long box. Rattle almost like a clunck in the front end. might be a comman problem but not sure if it is what is the cause?

Most common reason is the centering rod. This rod goes from the axle (on the right-side), across and up to the frame (on the left-side). But if you investigate and its fine, then I will need you to give me more specific info about the clunking. When and where it happens. You may need to jack the wheels off the groung and inspect the brakes, wheel bearings, ball-joints, and steering components.
