Where is the ac relay switch on 2004 Nissan maxima...compressor is not kicking on I'm trying to find a way to jump compressor to have it take charge

You can add freon without the compressor running. There is a pressure switch in the system that prevents the compressor from operating when the freon pressure is too low. Just add some freon and once the pressure increases, the AC clutch will engage.

2004 suzuki aerio ac compressor will not engage. Compressor is not locked up,relay and fuses good, power at plug on compressor.,tried to jump low pressure switch, good freon

Tap the front of the A/C compressor and see if it engages, if it does the spacing in the magnetic pickup is off. If it doesn't then you have a bad switch either high side or low side of the compressor lines.

A/c compressor won't engage 2005 equinox

most likely the ac compressor will not engage because it needs a freon charge. The simple way to tell if that is why without having special equipment is to find the pressure switch located on the low pressure line and jump the switch with a peice of wire. if the clutch engages when you jump the switch then you need to charge the ac with 134 a freon

97 chevy suburban AC clutch won't engage pressures

Looks like the low pressure switch gets power from a 10amp ac fuse. Power then goes to the ac relay which is powered on by the ac heat controller on the dash. Power then goes thru the high pressure switch to the compressor. The ac relay is grounded to the body. Do you have power on the lite and dark green wires going into the relay and is it grounded ?

Ac does not engage

Most vehicles have a low pressure switch that prevents the compressor from engaging so as to prevent damage to the compressor. You need to place a gauge set onto your AC to read the high and low sides of the system. Probably have lost enough gas(R134) over time to prevent the compressor from engaging. You can jump the pressure switch to check it with a simple jumper wire.

What energizes ac relay on 2005 freestar

The low side pressure switch in the AC low pressure line signals the PCM (computer control) to close the AC compressor relay and raise the idle speed. If the system is low on refrigerant charge the relay will not allow the system to engage the compressor, this is because the oil that lubricates all the works is suspended in the AC refrigerant, if that is low then the system gets no lubrication and will quickly seize up..

AC compressor will not energize

First thing you should check is all your grounds, on the body and your battery connections. Also double checked to make sure you have the air conditioning on with the fan on. If this is good the next thing to do is to get a wiring diagram. Verify that there's power going into the switching and coming out of the switch. Next find the compressor relay verify that there's power going two it. If this is good use your tests light to ground out the relay. If this works find out where the ground wire goes to the computer or the wide open relay. Good luck.
