2005 Toyota Corolla. Bought it from a guy that lives in the country. Took apart ac cabin filter today and found LOTS of mouse or rat stuff. Vac a bunch out and got a new filter...now ac is making a loud noise on high and vibrating. Did i drop stuff in the blower motor? Is there anywhere else i should be checking for these mouse nests?

Removal of the blower motor is quite easy. you can access it from the passenger foot area. remove the glove box by removing the limit rod screw and squeezing the sides of the glove box together to remove. You can now better visualize the area. remove a few plastic clips that hold an electronics shelf and move it aside. remove the electrical connection to the blower ( take note of orientation of plug so that you put the motor back in the correct position) remove three screws that hold the blower in place. Pull blower assembly down. clean or replace blower. Rockauto.com sells a complete blower and fan assembly for very little $.

Also have to remove the two screws holding the electronics box (just behind the glove box door) and the two wiring harnesses that plug to the right of the blower housing. Was then able to move the electronics box to the side so I could access the three screws on the bottom of the blower. Whole project took less then 10 minutes. Mine was full of acorns that dropped into the fan cage when Jiffy Lube pulled out the cabin filter for replacement.

There are products for sale to kill and also keep rodents away from an area. I would try both and see which works best.

2005 toyota corolla ac is not working

the ac clutch relay fails often. It is located in the fuse box next to the battery under the hood. it is labeled M/G CLT. You can buy one from rockauto.com for $11. You can test by swapping the relay in the fuse box with a similar one. also clean or replace the cabin air filter located behind the glove box.

Need instructions on replacing a drive belt and a cabin filter for a 2006 Toyota Corolla S

The cabin air filter is located behind the glove box, you will have to remove the glove box, behind the glove box is a cover about 1" high and 7" long, remove that cover and you will see a tray that holds the cabin air filter, remove the tray and you can replace the paper cabin air filter, I recomend using a Toyota cabin air filter, the Toyota cabin air filter is a HEPA air filter and is available at any Toyota dealer for about $ 30

2005 Toyota Corolla - car smells after rains

Look under the passenger side of the dash, behind the carpet. Feel the back side of the carpet for dampness. If so, try this: In the same area, look for a black rubber hose that comes from the heater plastic box, and pokes thru the firewall. See if it is plugged up. This is the drain pipe for the AC box, and the cowl panel if the side drains are plugged up. Try that, and please get back to me.
