the switch is located at the base of the steering colume and is in a half moon shape with a wire plug connected to it.it is held on with 2 blots(screws).
The oil pump is located inside the oil pan and is mounted to the engine block.
The removal of the oil pan is the only way to gain access to the oil pump.
The pump is driven by the end of the distibutor shaft which in turn is driven by the rotation of the cam shaft. There's a pickup tube that connects to the oil pump that goes to the lowest point of the oil pan, where the oil is drawn into the pump to lubircate the engine.
All of these are internal engine functions.
