I have a 2005 Nissan Murano. The drivers door locks without being locked. It does it randomly. I leave the car unlocked and come back minutes or several hours later and the drivers door will have locked but the passenger side is always open. Other times I can be in the car, shut it off and try to get out and the drivers door will be locked. The passenger door is always open. When I'm in the car and it locks I have never heard a click sound like it is locking. The dealer cannot not get it to do it when they have it. I did take it to them today after this happened as I came home for lunch and the door was locked so I crawled out the passenger door and left it locked. I then crawled back in and took it down to the dealer so everything would be the same. They still couldn't figure it out! They suggested replacing the actuators on both front doors. Has this happened to others and what was done to fix it? Thank you.

2005 nissan murano door lock

The Body Control Modual is not recieving a feed back from the passenger door lock confirming the unlock command and is therefore not energizing the rear hatch. There is no physical lock on the hatch - just yes or no for power from the BCM.

The entire lock kit is falling out on driver side Murano. The remote unlocks all but the driver door at times. Other times the door will not open and I am forced to use the key to manually unlock my driver...

Open drivers door, locate plastic plug on inside of door, near latch, across from door lock cylinder. Pop it out. There is a set screw that retains lock cylinder. Tighten set screw.

The key fob is the remote. But the remote type that works like a key. The remotes that you just need to carry on you to start the car or truck. That is a Key Fob.

Driver door won't lock with key fob

Check the locking solenoid / actuator in the door behind the panel, could be burned out or loose wire. It should take about 20-30 minutes to open, fix it and close the door panel if there's no major problem. Autozone might be able to help out with a solenoid.
