This is an indication of a bad motor mount. ask someone to watch the engine as you let out the clutch with the Em: brake set. They can watch the engine move and tell which way it moves the most, this is the side that has the bad mount. Try it in forward and reverse. The engine is moving enough for the belt to hit the pass. side motor mount and or the fender well. Thank you for using Fixya.

Ok. Your serpentine belt being ripped apart means the pulley's are not in align. You have to look and see where the faulty pulley is and replace it. this should hold your belt in alignment. The jerking could be because of a faulty motor mount. Have it put up on a hoist and tell shop what you are experiencing. I'd be willing to be they find its a bad motor mount that has worn our rubber on it....good luck!

I have a 2002 Bravada and the sunroof does not work. There are no sounds and the switch was replaced and all fuses are fen, where is the motor for the sunroof located?

The motor for the sunroof is located in the roof typically under the head liner and trim. One additional thing you could do before ripping everything apart would be to check the voltage at the sunroof, before replacing the motor. If you have power than chances are you need a new motor. If you dont have power than you may have over looked a fuse or relay.

Take care

When iput my car in gear i can fell the motor raise up with a thump noise also fan belt makes a winning sound

The Motor raising up issue is, you may have a worn or broken Engine or Transmission Mount, inspect the mounts by having someone or you, look at the mounts while someone else puts the car in gear. If you see the mounts move excessively, than the mounts need to be replaced. The whining or squealing Fan Belt may be a worn, glazed or loose belt. I would inspect the belt and tighten or replace as needed.

I just bought a 1992 eagle talon and one of the belts is making a high pitched squeeking sometimes until the car warms up or if I cycle the gears a few times. THe belt looks fine, no frays or anything....

As for the high pitched squeeking. Just replace the serpentine belt. Just because you don't notice any crack or no frays, does not mean that the belt is good. My car was doing the same thing and when I replaced the belt everything was fine.

In regards to jumping when shifting. First take a look at the RPM's. If the RPM's are high when shifting from Drive to Reverse this will cause the jumping. If the RPM's are around 750 to 850 then you might have to get the transmission checked out.

Hopfully this will get you going in the right direction. Good luck...
