My 2005 Corolla is continuing to have trouble with shifting. I keep getting the code p2716, but I have already had the compression solenoid for that code replaced. What should I do?

There is currently a recall going on for this problem. You can likely get your money back on the prior repairs as well. See this link http://www.toyota.com/recall/corolla-matrix.html. On the left-hand side, you can click to take you to put in your VIN and see if your vehicle is included. My 2007 vehicle IS included, and I just had the check engine light come on and have been experiencing rough shifting for about 6 months. When the light came on yesterday, it was extremely rough jerky shifting. The light went off today. Took it to Autozone and got same code P2716. Toyota has assigned me a case number, but I won't get a call back until Monday or by close of biz on Tuesday. This problem can cause your car to not start, or to shut down while driving. YIKES! The person I talked to at Toyota acted a little too nonchalant about the whole deal. Telling me to just wait for the call that I will get. She said most dealers would not have the part needed to fix this. According to what I have read. That is the reason why Toyota is not sending out the notification letters to the affected parties until mid-September. Check out all the info and good luck. I am a little bit p.o'd about this right now. - Natalie

Toyota hilux 2011 model trouble code p2716

here is some info. I hope it helps.

This is a code relative to shift solenoid malfunctions in your computer. This is a known problem on your model and Toyota released an updated PCM to correct the problem.
While you can replace the PCM yourself if you are out of warranty, your dealer will need to code your VIN to it in order to get rid of the check engine light.
The warranty coverage is 8 years or 80,000 miles from new.

The details of the bulletin are below:

Right now my car has a problem with the p2716 code

Unfortunately a P2716 code is a code for the pressure control solenoid inside the automatic transaxle, my suggestion to you is to take it to your local Toyota dealer where they will be able to monitor the shift solenoids within the transaxle.

Hope this helps....

What does code P2716 and how do I fix? Shift selonoid switch.

This has nothing to do with the shift solenoid switch. It is a failure of the ECM computer module. If your car is less than eight years old and less then 80K miles, it is covered by warranty

If not, the part is about $550.

P2716 pressure control solenoid d 2005 toyota corolla 117000 miles check engine light on

This is very common on Matrix/Corollas and is repairable by way of replacement PCM to correct invalid parameters. the labor is low but the part is very expensive.

Expect approximately $89 or less in labor, and $648 for the new PCM

2005 Pontiac Vibe having trouble shifting 1st 2nd code P2716 MIL

This is most likely due to a bad solenoid pack in transmission. You could have tranny serviced and see if it helps. Poor fluid condition makes valves stick in those.
