2002 ford f250 superduty started shifting weird, seems like torque converter isn't working properly. There is hesitation when going into gears and when I'm driving and apply the brake or let off the gas the rpms don't go down like they should. It has 71000 miles on it and transmission has not been serviced, would getting it serviced solve the shiffting problems or is the torque converter bad?

It sounds like the shifter lock out solenoid has gone bad.It is a solenoid that releases the shifter when you push the brake pedal.

If you installed the torque converter wrong and messed up the pump willit leak fluid on 05 ford f250 superduty turbo diesel 4x4

Yes it will, there are seals on the shaft, the pump forces fluid down the shaft into the torque converter, then it returns to the transmission.

Check your shifter linkage, Since they will only start in P or N , Your shifter position sensor may just be knocked out of place or stuck in 5th gear position, even though the shifter is in P ( It used to be called a starter nutrueal safety switch)

F250 2002 V10 fault code P0743 torque converter clutch circuit

hi if the torque coverter is faulty it will not run right as this is what transferes the engines power to the box change it before it damages the box that will be expensive as the metal parts in the coverter will break up and will transfere it through your box if it hasn,t allready done so best of luck yates210456

You should check the wiring for the gear shift. Sometimes the wires rub through on the top and it causes a short.F2.45 is a 10a fuse in fuse box located in the cab. It controls all three of your concerns. Hope this helps, Good Luck.
