I am assuming you mean Fuel Pump, if it is you need to check grounds , there is a small ground strap when you remove the tank that is needed to ground the harness, make sure that is tight, its a 13mm bolt with a star washer make sure it goes back in the same area.

also check to see that you are getting a signal on the signal wire when you are requesting it when you crank the vehicle. i think its a purple or grey wire MAKE sure you do not use a test like on the sending unit wires, get a wiring diagram for your system.

Can a Chevy 305 engine bolt in place of a 1985 Oldsmobile cutlass supreme 307 engine?

Yes and no.
Yes it could bolt in place, but it could take a lot of work changing every thing over.
Exhaust, transmission, wiring, cooling, and so on.
Probably nothing except the crossmember would be the same for both engines.

I haven't started my 1988 Chevy 305 truck in a few years. I put a squirt of lubricate in each cylinder, made sure there was oil and coolant, and a new battery. When I tried to turn the key it wou

I would check to see if you are getting 12 volts at the starter. You should have one wire coming from the ignition that gets system voltage when you turn the key to the start position. You'll also have one from the battery that will be hot all the time.

How to install a new fuel pump on a 1985 Chevy,305 V8,

Remove the plunger rod by removing the plate that is bolted to the block. Clean all parts if needed.

Apply some axle grease to the plunger rod and reinstall into the block, replace plate, then carefully install fuel pump, making sure the plunger is under the push rod.

Just did this same thing on my '66 283.

Engine starts but dies immediatly unless i keep pumping gas

Check the electrical for key on power to the fuel pump relay, it sounds like the pump will only run in the start position.

1992 Chevy Silverado idles rough why?

Check your MAP and TP sensors. Your throttle body may be having trouble determining position and is compensating by adjusting RPMs.

No elect. to fuel pump fuse

Have you made any other repairs to the truck lately? Starter maybe? The ignition switch has more than one source feeding it. If you lose one fusible link, you'll lose ign OR acc items. I'd check all fusible links.

1985 chevy pickup power steering belt

IF YOU LOOK CLOSE YOU ARE PROBABLY MISSING THE NUT ON THE VERY BACK OF THE PUMP. USUALLY HARD TO GET TO. YOU USUALLY HAVE A PIVOT ADJUSTMENT FROM THE FRONT SIDE (TOP), A SLIDER ADJUSTMENT IN THE 9 O'CLOCK POSITION FRONT SIDE, AND ANOTHER SLIDER ADJUSTMENT ON THE BACK.
