Is your trans an auto trans? If so, you should have the 45rfe trans which would take 5-7 quarts to refill after a filter change.

Use only Chrysler or Valvoline ATF+4 fluid.

Where is egr valve on 05 5.7l hemi 4wd

The EGR on my 05 Hemi Durango is located on the passenger side front of the engine near the head.

I would bet your Ram is the same or close to it.

When changing transmission pan gasket and filter, how many quarts of fluid will i replace

Which engine does your truck have?? Most passenger type trucks/cars today are in the 5-7 quart range when you do a drain/refill filter change.

I recommend using the OEM fluid as well or at least one approved by them. Transmissions can be really fickle about what fluid goes in them.... to the point of operating so poorly that some shops would replace/rebuild them when all they need is correct fluid.

2004 ram 1500 with 5.7 hemi using 1 quart every 3,000 miles

Slide a large piece of cardboard under the truck after driving for ten minutes note in which area directly above the spot on the cardboard the oil is coming from then get under the vehicle with a drop light to look for the origin of the leak, if no leak is detected then it may be the engine is burning oil this could either be valve stem seals or broke or worn oil rings.
