Replace the entire section before and after the flex. Be sure to look into excessive engine movement, that may have caused this failure. Welds will fail again, quickly.

Convert dual exhaust on 99 sunfire gt to single?

You can cut out the Y pipe and replace it with a flex pipe from parts store, then clamp each end of the flex pipe, the pipe diameter will be 1-7/8 or 2 inch, also for the pipe replacement piece would work from a sunfire or cavalier from 1995 and up, might need to replace the muffler strap too. as it can break from rusting, if not already rusted and broken.

Does it matter what size front exhaust pipe needed to repair 95 toyota avalon

Well, the main point is that it connects to the other two pipes without any leaks.
Also, if the replacement pipe is wider, it could touch other surfaces and damage them from the high heat.

2000 passat wagon flex pipe needs replacement. I bought a new pipe. Do I need to replace muffler too?

I just had both flex pipes changed at a Midas shop. Five hours labor and $115 for the parts. My muffler was fine.

I have a 2000 4 cylinder Toyota Camry. The VIN starts with 'J'. Having trouble with a droning noise coming from the exhaust, I have used 100% dealer parts. In August 2010 I changed the flex pipe,...

Sounds like (no pun) your muffler and/or resonator are wearing out internally. After internal parts wear, they can make strange harmonic sounds. Sounds change with fuel, air filter and general tuning of car. Have a good muffler shop listen to it and take them in test drive to witness what you're hearing.

Exhaust Flex Pipe; How to replace?

You can change the entire section of exhaust pipe that the flex pipe is in. It's usually bolted to the catalytic converter, on the back end, and to the exhaust manifold at the front end. It's just a matter of unbolting it and bolting on the new section of exhaust with new gaskets. You could also go to a muffler shop and have them cut out the old flex pipe and weld in a new piece of flex pipe in it's place. It's for you to decide which option is best for you, and for your wallet.

Exhaust Pipe broke/Rust on muffler

Flex pipe will work, or if it's a straight section of pipe you can buy a universal piece of exhaust tubing with flared ends, trim off the rusty ends on your original pipe with a hacksaw or Sawzall and slip in the new section. Clamp it with 2 muffler clamps and you're set. Total cost should be under $40.

Exhast pipe where it is braided is loud how do you replace it

I have seen a lot of muffler shops or reg shops just weld that thing together to stop the leak, because it does wear out fast, it is a flex joint, I think to replace it it, you have to get the whole section of pipes, crossovers, etc, whatever you have under there. Hope this helps.
