Quits running periodically. Cranks over but will not start. Let it sit for 15 minutes, it starts.
I have had it towed twice to the repair shop and they could not find anything wrong. I take it home, drive it awhile and it will start doing the periodic stopping again.
I don't trust it to leave me stranded somewhere!

CHECK BATTERY TO BODY AND BATTERY TO MOTOR GROUND FOR COROSSION UNDER BOLTS. ALSO CHECK GROUND STAP FROM MOTOR TO BODY FOR CORROSION. BAD GROUNDING CAN CAUSE ALL SORTS OF ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS

I'd change the plugs as per this link, and swear by an 'internal service' by chemicals as manufactureed by BG Products available on Ebay (The chemicals are for professional use so stick to the instructions). Sorry to say someone will have to have tools ready to check it the next time it quits running. Could be a relay, the ignition module, the coil, or anything else that can get hot and stop working.
Do you know anything diagnostic's ? Using a more advanced scan tool to look at sensor data ? How to test automotive electrical testing ? Not just replacing part's . Learning how to diagnose , using tool's to test fuel pump pressure , pulling a spark plug to check for spark . a bad crank sensor can cause this. shuts off while going down road, and will start about 10 min, later with no problems runs fine until it quits again. hope this helps,
I had this problem that the malibu would not start sometimes. It turned out to be a computer chip. The dealership informed me that they had tested it earlier after we had it towed to their shop and told me it started fine. I wife drove to work and when leaving it would not start the dealership towed without charge and found out it was a computer chip problem.[
