I have a 2004 kia sorento. while driving down the interstate at 75mph, i hear a ticking noise. all my gauges read normal. a minute later the ticking gets louder and the check engine light comes on. i start moving to the shoulder but before i can get there, all dash lights come on, the engine shuts down, and the temp. gauge goes to the top. the vehicle will now not start. any one know where i should start?

Does the car have a normal oil level on the dipstick? The behavior is consistent with a broken timing belt except for the part about the temperature gauge going to the top which would indicate overheating or a faulty gauge.

Trying to figure out if I am having fuel pump problems or possible rear differential problem on 2004 kia sorento. Hearing a whining or moaning when driving more profound mostly when breaking but...

Could be your transfer case, have it check out and lubricated. Did you change tires, or are tires different in size, if just one, tire is different in size, pressure or thread, you can also get this noise.

My 2003 kia sorento's heater will not work. what are possible reasons as to why this is?

check coolant level first. the reservoir also acts as a de-gas bottle so let it run then fill it to max line and let the engine idle to normal operating temp. if its full and temp sensor reads in normal range go drive it on the highway, if the temp gauge plumits then you have a stuck open thermostat

2005 Kia Sorento gurgling noise behind dash

Check the water coolant level because some of the hot water goes into the heater radiator behind the dash. Seems you have air in the system.

2004 KIA Sorento, heater problems

Hi. I just had the same problem after I took my 05 sorento in for service. I called the shop back and they told me the system had to be burped after the coolant level gets low( they neglected to refill my system at the dealership also). To do this you must fill the coolant tank to the proper level, park the vehicle on an incline(with the front of the vehicle being highest), and allow vehicle to heat up with the heat on. it worked for my 05.
