Question about 2001 Hyundai Elantra

Error codes P0105 AND P0440 on at same time. Had

Error codes P0105 AND P0440 on at same time. Had tranny slipping going into 3rd and studdering bad getting onto highway. Replaced MAP sensor, all great ! Codes erased. Not sure if i still had EVAP problem? "control circuit" it says in manual. I checked back left of car for hoses etc. maybe i should take plastic cover off ? Also, have 180,00 km, still have not had timing belt/water pump replaced !? should i get it done? thanx, Bob

it should be located near the radiator, check for clogs find the hot compressor line and trace it to find it :) they can be hidden in many places but its usally locaed near the radiator as thats where all the air flow and exchange happens hope this helps

If it won't go into Over Drive then you have a transmission problem that needs adjustment or repair. If your saying your Right Hub will not lock into 4 x 4 then there is a problem in the Trans Axle. Either will require a specialty shop for repair unless you have the special tools to disassemble and repair it yourself.

P1442 usually gas cap. P1449 usually vent solenoid. P1441 usually always a faulty FTP sensor. Very problematic to Malibu, Grand Am Cavaliers and Aleros. That would be my first area to check. They are also known for poor wiring connections at the Left rear passthru connector to the fuel tank and vent solenoid, but not necessarily for that code.

I'm not sure I understand your question. When I first read it I thought you were saying you had an error code that the engine idle is low, but the error code you've given is for a MAP sensor problem which you mentioned in your post also. I'm going to guess that you've observed the low idle yourself, and when you ran the diagnostics the engine computer was complaining of a bad MAP sensor signal. This is triggered when the engine computer sees a change in another sensor that should correlate with a certain change in the MAP sensor, but the MAP sensor signal doesn't change as expected. Idle problems are a possible symptom of a bad MAP sensor, so this is not unreasonable. What your engine is telling you is that you should check the MAP sensor and its related wiring and hose connections to try to find your problem. If you fix the problem with the MAP sensor then your idle may start working properly again.

2001 kia sephia slips out of gear. Trouble codes P1500, P1624, P0740.


Low fluid or too much ATF? (foaming it up and killing bearings)

p07xx is tranny DTC codes. (errors)
TCC lockup failure. (the TCM commanded the lock and
the tail shaft sensor did not rise in RPM
that is the engine RPM does not match tail RPM or 1:1 ratio.
which is LOCK ratio.

1500 is speed sensor , reads wrong,
No Vehicle Speed Signal to TCM.

1624 means.
MIL Request Signal from TCM to ECM.
the means simply the Tcm SAW and error and sent that error up stream to ECM. creating 1500.
remember the ECU never knows what part is bad.
NEVER ! it only knows, the tests failed. (monitors)
the first thing i do is find out which VSS failed.
on some cars there are 2 to 5
the first speed sensor is RPM does the scan tool show correct engine RPM? y/n
if yes,
does the scan-tool show correct MPH? sensor 2.
y/n if not fix that first.
the TCM function (tranny brain must not be lied to, in this order)
engine RPM , MPH.
and last the tranny its self as VSS (rpm) sensors. 1 to3.
my guess, (too lazy to look it up) has 1 sensor on the tranny tail.
if all is good and 1500 means VSS 2 tranny tail is fibbing.
then its one of 3 things.
(all others good)REMEMBER the TCM does comparisons to all speed sensors to shift the car correctly so the front sensor count first. then last the rear.
VSS2 lies. this is bad bad tranny (slips) bad wires to VSS2 or bad VSS2.
most TCM go to limp home when the tranny slips to stop burning up the clutch packs. may skip gears too.

now what does slips out of gear mean. a neutral FLARE?
or down shifts,
if the tranny ever slips. this is bad news.
if it does slip 1500 is only the warning that it did
it say RPMs go out of control and threw 1500 pronto.

Try to think(sic) like a TCM what would you do if the tranny malfs.
answer, throws codes.
and goes to limphome, if necessary, (FSM show these facts)
so does alldata dot com
what i do is try to get tranny to slip. using all gears.
if it slips ,its bad.
The TCM can not run a slipping tranny.
the TC does slip, but the TCM has that all figured out. (modeled)
not locked, and locked it must not.

My check engine light keeps coming on! The code that keeps coming up is p0105! What exactly is it? The map sensor has already been changed and still the check engine light stays on and the same code still...


Well, something related to manifold pressure is at issue. Look for intake leaks, cracked or dislodged hoses. Check engine compression, it appears that the Map sensor was a victim and not a cause. This is often the case with error codes.

NOTE: Freeze Frame data is the PCM recording a fault when it happens. It captures the readings of the various PIDS (parameter identifiers)available to troubleshoot what happened. It's like a recording of the problem as it happened. At idle a typical MAP sensor Voltage reading should be about a volt, and at WOT (wide open throttle) it should approach 4.5 to 5 Volts. As for the TPS, at idle, the voltage reading is about 1 Volt or less. As the throttle is opened the reading will increase to 4.5 Volts at WOT. Do the two readings make sense? I have a 2000 oldsmobile alero, the check engine light is on. advanced auto said its a po105 problem, what does this mean


P0105 - MAP Sensor Circuit Insufficient Activity.If it is the 3.4 or 3.1L engine The Map sensor is located towards the back of the engine by the coil packs.Would verify that it is plugged in and also that the vaccum line going to it is not cracked,If all this checks ok then map sensor may need replaced.

Trouble code P0105 continues to set on 2003 chevy trailblazer


If you have bearing problems MAP sensor codes are the least of your worries. Check on the cost of getting a new engine. I hope this is not the problem. Good luck Moe
