fuel pump has`a`cut-off switch that needs to be reset. Two most common locations are in the trunk on the sides, or on the passenger side kickplate under the glovebox on the right side of the inside passengers right foot.

SOURCE: PT Cruiser Timing chain and water pump problems removing

It's a pain to get out I just did mine belt and water pump it took about 3 times as long as I thought.
Make sure all the bolts are loose, make sure you have removed the tranmission mount as it gives you more room to move the engine. It's suggest you take the exhaust off as well as you can damage it if you jack the engine up too high. Lossen the bolts on the motor mount across from that plate, you will not be able to remove the motor mount but you can spin it allowing you to get that big plate out.

If you look at the front of the headlight, there are actually a couple of screws around the edge. These are your adjustment screws.

1999 Chevrolet Cavalier sedan - coolant is pouring out of the bottom. Can't find where it is leaking from. Replaced the thermostat.

Sometimes it can be difficult to determine the location of a leak when it is severe. The first thing to do is clean the affected area. For engine coolant, this can be done using water from a pitcher or garden hose. Next, slowly add more coolant to the radiator (only when the engine is cold) while watching for the leak to present. Note the general location of the leak whether it's the engine area or radiator area. Coolant leaks from the engine can originate from the water pump, gaskets or hoses. Coolant leaks from the radiator can come from the radiator or hoses. There are also coolant hoses that run to the bulkhead/firewall and coolant reservoir that could be leaking. In my experience the most common major coolant leak comes from a faulty water pump. When a water pump leaks it tends to get coolant on the serpentine belt which then slings everywhere! I have a 2008 pt cruiser, i don't know where to add water... does anyone know or are there any demonstrations that would be helpful to me?

Kecia, where are you putting in the coolant, that is where you want to add distilled water. Save yourself some trouble and buy premixed coolant then you do not have to add water. If not using premixed coolant, mix coolant and water 50/50, or half distilled water half coolant before you pour it in cooling system. It also sounds like you are having a overheating issue which you should have looked at sooner then later. Check the attached links, instruction and guides, Good luck

How do i know the waterpump is faulty...

Kind of doubtful the water pump is faulty, then. Three ways a water pump is bad: If an internal seal gives way, water will come out the front of the pump and drip down. Or if an internal bearing goes out, the pump pulley will be wobbly or the pump will make a howling noise. The last way and less common is when the internal impellers that push the water get corroded (or rusted if metal) and then they deteriorate to the point they don't push water good enough. This last way is caused by neglect of the coolant system, like not ever changing the coolant for a long, long time.
So if you are over heating without an external leak, or a wobbly, noisy pump pulley, then it is doubtful the pump is at fault. But look at your coolant. If it is very dirty, you might need a new pump. If you are having to add coolant, you need to find the leak, or it could be an internal leak, like into the oil sump.
If not having to add coolant, then you have to check the flow from engine to radiator and back into the engine. Radiators can get blocked, or they can get debris and leaves on the outside and not cool the water well enough. Then if the flow or circulation is good, you need to check for a head gasket leak or a cracked cylinder head.
Good luck.

Coolant leak

It is possible that the housing for the water pump has corroded and the new(hopefully) gasket is unable to seal off properly. Water pumps have a bleed hole underneath before the bearing so that in the event of the seal leaking the water will run out and not affect the bearing. May be the housing was not cleaned properly and a piece of old gasket is preventing the new gasket for fitting properly. If you have doubts that he did the job go back and front him to get the job done properly. Remember that in future the replaced part is yours and you have rights in law to take the old part home with you to prove it was changed.

My ford taurus 01 is leaking coolant. I already replaced the water pump, and still leaking. How can I find where the leak is at? I need the repair manual. I was told it has 3 water seals besides the water...

Go to your local auto parts store and rent a coolant pressure tester, it's a hand pump with a radiator cap on the end, so you simply install it instead of the radiator cap, pump it up to about 10psi and visually look for the leak, should be easy to find. If that fails you could also try a dye test, ask about it at the auto parts store for more information.

1998 chevy monte carlo leaking coolant

It's a 99% chance of water pump leak or the housing at the timing chain that the water pump sits on.
Water pumps can and do leak one minute then seal themselves.
A cheap fix most use is go to a 7 lb pressure cap on the rad.
