My Volvo S70 has a gas tank lid that locks when closed. There is a release on the driver's door. Yesterday when I tried to use the release on the driver's door to open the gas tank lid the gas tank lid did not open. Above the release for the gas tank lid there is a release for the trunk. It no longer functions either. I checked all the fuses and there doesn't appear to be a bad fuse in the fuse box, nor is there a fuse listed for either of this components. Has anyone seen this problem and have a solution?

HI,
Is this a lever or button you pull or push? If it's a button than it must be electric and there is likely a fuse somewehre in the link for both trunk and gas lid that may be under the dash, by the engine, or somwhere else.

If it's a lever than it's likely a cable that runs back to them...but not sure how BOTH would be 'broken'. Does the lever feel 'different' as in loose or less tension than in the past?

SOURCE: volvo s70 radio code

You must take the car to a Volvo dealer so they can reference the code from the VIN number. If you call it in, they only assume you stole the radio. Sometimes you have to prove you own the car.

P0455 evap control system gross leak detected on 1998 volvo s70

The code means the computer tried to vent the gas tank and found a huge leak in the vent system. Issue could be a faulty gas cap, leaking gasket on the gas tank, or broken line from the tank to the vapor canister.

Inside driver's door release catch will not open door. have to wind down window & use outside handle to open. Any thoughts please. Volvo S70 T5 is car.

The little rod from the inside release catch to the door lock has been broken/come loose.

Take out the door panel and see what is the problem. Then either fix it or let someone to fix it.

Hello how are you? I was wondering if you could assist/guide me?

There is a electric solenoid to pull the cable removing the pin to open the lid when the button at the driver door is activated. But this is known for unreliable due to the design. In order to release the lid manually, you can pull the trim panel in the trunk at the right side to get the mechanism releasing the cable. Back yard mechanics should be able to replace the solenoid, but instead let them fabricate a handle at the luggage area to manually release the lid. This will be cheaper and more reliable.
