Welcome to the forum. Your question has to many variables. Cold weather out here in Cen Cal this time of year is mid 40s. Is the problem when the vehicle is cold as in ovrernight but starts ok when it is warm? Does it crank OK but seem like it's not getting fuel? If you hold the throttle slightly open, does it start OK?

Might be you ecu is going bad. Does the check engine light illuminate on the dash, right before you try to start it, the times when it doesn't want to start? If the light does not illuminate on the dash, then the ecu is the problem and needs repair or replacement. Basically, that check engine light has to light up on the dash, before the jeep will start.

There is a sensor on the top of the transmission housing that if it goes bad can give you these sypmtons. It's called the crank sensor.

Could be a sensor.I'm thinking more along the lines of a fuel pump or fuel filter. If the fuel pump is going bad..similar symptoms.Would be advisable to install a pressure gauge at the engine, and check fuel pressure when it's acting up.
