1998 Camaro Z28. Had transmission rebuilt about 2 years ago by "Mr. Transmission" in Augusta, GA. When I brought it home it kicked somewhat going up to 2nd. Took it back and they told me it was normal. Now it kicks so hard going up into 2nd I have to start out going slow until it shifts. The faster I'm going when it shifts into 2nd the harder it kicks. Is there some adjustment that can be done to cure this?

Are you sure the TV ( trans shift cable at the throttle valve) cable is correctly adjusted?? Without line pressure readings, I can only guess that the D3/Part throttle check ball is missing, if it is a trans problem
If the TV is correct, I am assuming that the TV cable is pulled tight at WOT.
Did you check the throttle (ACCEL) cable to be sure that the carb goes wide open when your accel pedal is on the floor?? This must be done with someone in the car and a second person looking at the carb. Without doing this, you do not know if you have WOT. Without WOT, the trans will not de-tent and shift down.

first of all you need to fix the motor mounts drive shaft hangers and the lower control arm bushings and if you still have a transmission problem . it is in the valve body in the transmission you need to bring it to a good transmission shopas this will be a major tranny overhaul

SOURCE: 94 Camaro Z28 Missfire & Backfires

I had a similar problem, took it to get diagnosed and was instructed to give them $1100 because of a faulty reading on the distributer, rather than paying $650 for a unit I found plenty available new for under $200 I bought an OEM for $189. Now the labour can be found cheaper elsewhere. I then discovered that the module may also be at fault but I would have to replace the dizzy first, Then discovered that the Air Flow meter {afm} may need to be taken off and cleaned with a carby cleaning spray, this is a do it yourself fix costing you about $8 a can of cleaner
Unscrew the units clamps and disconnect the plug, I can't stress enough, DO NOT touch the fine wires inside, spray the carbon buildup off the inside and blow/air dry, {do not rinse with water.} reinstall the unit in the reverse of which it was removed, Alternativly you may have fuel blockage in the lines, try replacing the fuel filter {cheapest fix}
Hope this helps

Do I have to remove the tranny on a 1998 Camaro z28 to replace the slave cylinder

Sorry but you definitely have to remove the transmission. On this style manual transmission.The slave cylinder slides over the splined input shaft.

Your transmission for the GTP should be the 4T65-HD. If in fact it is not then that could very well be the problem. The 4T65-E is for the other 3.8L naturally aspirated models.

I have a 1996 z28 camaro with auto trany that kicks into gear

check your transmission fluid level. see if it's burned. you can try changing transmission fluid, but only half at a time. If you change all your fluid at once, you could blow some seals on older vehicles.

1995 camero z28. Transmission changes all gears smoothly including reverse. When I put it in park the car still rolls as if it is not in park. I thought I heard a pop a few days ago.

It sounds like there is an issue with either the shift cable or either the parking paw inside the transmission. You should be able to take to a local transmission shop for a quick diagnosis.
