How much does a transmission sensor cost to replace for a 1999 Ford Explorer XLT?

Could be the speed sensor in the transmission or driveline. They are easily replaced. Please get one from FORD. You will thank me.

it's on the module under the dash, usually on the driver side. The delaer can retrieve it for about 1/2 hr labor cost.

sounds like a wiring issue. I'd start by checking the wires around the radio and see if they are chaffed or broken.

Sounds like the ABS sensor there are four sensors each located near the brakes

polarcycle is right but there is a speed sensor on the drivers side top of the trans. toward the tail shaft or transfer case. there is as well a sensor inside the trans. itself that is mounted on the web. behind the overdrive band and drum.

Based on the experience i have with these codes at the Ford dealer I work at u are going to most likely need a transmission overhaul, it is slipping and the torque converter clutch is defective.
