2003 Lancer OZ Rally - Erratic Idle while sitting. Acceleration and normal driving is fine but when I stop for more than 10 seconds it bounces between 400 and 1000 rpms. What could be wrong?

idle control on the intake is at fault, the click you are hearing is that the unit is trying to keep the idle down. but it is eather blocked or warn out.

the starter is normally located located beside the engine near the flywheel and transmission. follow the wire from the +pole of the battery

I had the same problem with my 2003 Lancer OZ. The oil level and pressure were ok. Car was fine with no light when starting. After 10 to 15 mins of driving it would come on when I was stopped. It would go away when I pressed accelerator. Try replacing the Oil Sending Unit. It's about $10 and easy to swap. That was my problem.
