Van starts and then dies like it has no fuel,then starts again and does same thing?THEN AFTER AN HOUR OR SO IT STARTS FINE I HEARD IT WAS AN ANTI THEFT DEAL

Clean is required in the carburetor as well as this could also be due to water content in the fuel tank. Spark plug cleaning will also help.

Could be a number of things. If your car starts first thing in the morning and stalls shortly after, only to start again after it sits for an hour, it would be a classic example of a clogged catalytic converter. If it never starts back, I would check the fuel pressure, sounds to me like it could be a clogged fuel filter, faulty fuel pump relay or faulty fuel pump. If you have enough fuel pressure, check for a faulty coil, ignition module, or map sensor vacuum leaks.

It could be a vapor lock but not likely. Since the introduction of fuel injection vapor lock has been eliminated.
You need to figure out if you are loosing fuel pressure or spark when it will not start back up. Could be a fuel pump relay or ignition module among other things. Even a problem with the vent for the gas tank.

try this it may work as i dont know your area, as im in uk but remove the air temp sensor on the filter box and see if that works, if it does it could just need replacing or you need a remap to the ecu as its reading the wrong signal. could even be a bad connection to the ecu so might just need a good clean on the ecu connector.

if its been a while change the fuel filter and then have the fuel pressure and volume checked.these symptoms are very common for a fuel pump problem.

Check to see if the radiator fan is coming on when the van gets hot.If it does not then on a 2.6 liter engine.look on the bottom part of the radiator on drivers side for a fan switch that could be bad and not letting the radiator fan to come on. On a 3.0 liter engine the coolant temperature sensor is screwed into the thermostat housing. And on a 3.3 liter and on a 3.8 liter engine the coolant temperature sensor is screwed into the front cylinder head. Anyone of these can cause the van to run hot and eventually die with no restart until the temperature has cooled down. Check the fan first with two jumper wires from the positive/negative post to the fan connector on a 2.6 liter engine (positive wire to open pin on plug,negative wire to insulated plug side. On all v6 engines hook jumper wires to motor. To the left side will be positive and negative to the right. Do not let both wires touch together while testing. If motor does not respond to direct wiring then replace it. Another thing to look at is the catalytic converter on van. Check the exhaust flow when the van is running cold and again when it gets hot. If the flow starts to slow down when the van gets hot then remove the converter(plugging up). After doing that run the van again to see if the van runs ok. Hope this will help you.

sounds like your engine immobiliser fuel cut off is activating.try taking battery teminals off,re-connect and re activate your immobiliser fob the usual way,**** it will re-set itself,& or your fob battery may need changing,it,s anti-theft cut off that is your problem.good luck.

first thing i would do i would check fuel pressure if you have good fuel pressure then the next thing i would unbolt the exhaust from the exhaust manafold and then try to start engine if the engine starts up and runs fine then you have clogged up exhaust converters
