open engine compartment, reach in behind headlamp housing and twist the outtermost ring on the headlamp bulb to reslease it from the lamp housing.
Being careful not to touch the new lamp bulb... replace the new bulb in reverse of the removal.
Hello first start by opening your engine hood rite behind your head lamp pot is a plug socket simply twist counter clock wise and socket will come out remove bulb and replace turn clock wise to tighten up turn head lights on to check that new bulb works both high and low beam you have now changed your head lamp bulb and restored your lights

Position headlamp switch (11654) and headlamp time delay switch (13736) in the OFF position.
Remove two bolts retaining headlamp (13008) to upper support assembly and loosen pinch bolt. Remove headlamp assembly from vehicle.
Remove park lamp bulb and socket (Sable only) and headlamp bulb and socket from Headlamp Assembly as outlined.
Headlamp Assembly (Taurus Shown, Sable Similar)
Turn lamp socket and wiring (13410) assembly 1/2 turn counterclockwise and remove from parking lamp (13200) housing.
Remove screw from park/turn signal housing.
Using 1/4 inch drive socket extension and swivel, insert tool through two access holes in upper radiator support. Remove screws from park/turn signal housing.
you are just replacing bulbs not the whole lamp i presume. The bulbs are held in by a ring that turns about a quarter turn counter clockwise to release. Then the bulb will pull out of the lamp housing. Some cars do not give room to do this and you will have to remove objects in the way or take headlamp out of car to achieve
Answer remove the headlight assembly and the bulbs are located below the Assembly to remove headlamp assembly and access signals: -open the hood -while pushing rearward on the headlamp,pull up half-way on the (white)plastic retaining clip on the electrical connector - align the square cut-out on the retaining clip with the notch on the headlamp -pull the headlamp assembly straight out from the vehicle (moving the headlamp up and down slightly may help with its removal) -locate the front turn signal,parking lamp and foglamp bulbs which are located below the headlamp assembly (turn/parking lamp on top and the fog lamp is below it) -turn the bulb socket 1/4 turn counterclockwise to remove it from assembly -pull the old bulb from the socket and replace it with a new one -turn the bulb socket a 1/4 turn clockwise to reinstall it -reinstall the headlamp assembly carefully so you dont scratch the paint -push down on (white)plastic retaining clip on the electrical connector while pushing rearward on the headlamp making sure headlamp is secure.
Do you mean the entire headlight assembly or just the bulb?
If it's the entire headlamp look at the new one to see where the
fastening points are, the grill may have to be removed and also the
parking lamp lens, if it's just the bulb it's easy Open your hood look at the backof the headlight assembly and twist the bulb

There is a threaded ring that must be turned counter clockwise to remove bulb, it can be done without removing anything but the ring once the ring is pulled away from lamp pull bulb out and buy replacement, suggest you buy two new lamps and replace withthe new halogen lamps.
check for voltage at the lamps themselves. If no voltage is present, check headlamp relay,.Rarely it could also be the multi-function switch, but don't go there first! Also, did you try a new bulb?(s)
For some reason, Toyota chooses to wire their headlamps differently than domestic cars, with dual fuses for the headlamps, and a common ground for each headlamp...The reason that the lamp was dim is the bulb was getting power thru a "backfeed" condition, due to the poor ground. The fuse may have blown due to the poor ground, also.
Open the hood. Observe the area above the right headlamp, close to the fender. You will see a phillips screw that holds a plastic tab. Remove the phillips screw. After removing the screw, pull the marker lamp assembly towards you. It may be real tight, if it has never been removed before. You need to pull the light assembly out of 2 retention sockets behind the marker lamp. Rotate the bulb socket to get to the bulb, replace the bulb, & slide it back in.Easy job.
