The car needs to be scanned. It is free at Autozone, Oreilys, and Advance autoparts. Get the Code number for the bad part. The clerks can tell you what is wrong.
Its possible that you have acticated the ANTI-THEFT system, check in the owners manual to disamr, or CKP (Cranksahft Position sensor) need adjust out point. Are you check for fuel pump pressure or any fuse blown?
What you are describing sounds like the alternator is starting to fail. Most part stores don't charge to check the battery and alternators now so you may want to have it checked out.
there is a micro chip inside the head of the igntion key, when you put the key in the igntion the sensor inside the steering colunm will read the resistance of the micro-chip. If there is a match the engine will start. If for some reason the sensor will not read the micro chip the system will think some is stealing the car. I would try another key 1st, if this persist, the module will need to be replaced. Start with a new key, its cheaper.
You'll need to go a GM store parts departement with the old key, drivers license & registration for the dealer to cut a new key.
it might be the chip in the key or the wires coming from the ignition going undr the dash an if u have a aftermarket alarm they could have done something worng
Put the key in turn it on don't start it wait 10mins turn the key off remove it waits 10 seconds repeat this 3 times this should help if not try this with another key if it still don't work your ignition switch ifs probably bad dealer must replace and reprogram new keys. I got this info from the emission wiz it helped me on 2 different cars
