How do I reset the "CHECK ENGINE" warning light?

Had the oil changed in 2002 New Beetle. The check engine light, ASR (Anti-Slip Regulation), and EPC (Electronic Power Control) dash warning lights are all on. Solid lights, not blinking.

Not without clearing codes. And if the check engine light is on due to an actual problem, it can turn the other warning light on too so you know those systems are disabled. Usually a problem with ABS or traction control will not turn on the check engine light.
Your owners manual would talk more about what the lights mean.
I would have the engine computer scanned for trouble codes first.

If the check engine light is on, you would need to erase the trouble codes with a scanner or code reader to make the light go off. If the problem is still there the light will come back on.

YOU CANT RESET ENGINE WARNING LIGHT UNTIL YOU CODE SCAN FIX THE PROBLEM.BECAUSE IF YOU HAVE A BAD SENSOR THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WILL STAY ON.ONCE YOU REPLACE THE BAD SENSOR YOU NEED A CODE SCANNER TO ERASE TURN OFF CHECK ENGINE LIGHT.

Probably nothing whatsoever to do with you checking the dipstick. On the golf when the warning light flashes, you reset it by opening the bonnet. That is why you think that when you check the dipstick it resets, when in fact it was opening the bonnet. Check your bonnet switch

You can disconnect your battery for 15 minutes or pull the fuse for an ECM or PCM fuse, but the best way is to visit any local repair shop. Most shops will have a universal Check Engine Light Code Reader that can quickly and safely reset check engine light trouble codes. It should take about 30 seconds.

Ask your local service center if they could reset the check engine light with a Check Engine Light Code Reader.

Check engine warning light on continious

The easiest way to reset that light is to go to an AutoZone or Advance Auto..and they have the code readers..and they will see what code you have and they will remove the codes from you car computer and reset the light for free..or you can buy a code reader and do it yourself..i hope this helps....Keith

Check engine light comes on

the only way to reset the warning light is to plug in a code reader and reset it, most mechanics will do this very cheap, hope this helps

U can reset it with a code reader or scanner at the diagnostic connector under the dash or u can disconnect the negative battery cable for 3 minutes

Do you have a scanner? if you do just hook it up read the code then clear it. If you dont just take it to autozone. They will read the code and when you make the repair they will reset it. Usually they will reset it once for you without making a purchase just to make sure its not a false reading.
