Every time I turn on the lights and try to brighten the dash lights it blows the fuse

Make sure the switch is turned all the way to the right or rolled all the way up. some have a separate little wheel type switch to brighten or dim dash lights. can be turned completely off! Try this.

To start, a fuse. The radio receives a signal or feed from the interior lights so that it will dim or brighten with the interior and dash lights. during the radio installation it may be that this wire was left off and not insulated, or used as a power lead, etc.

Start by checking your fuses, the interior dash lights and exterior marker lights are on the same fuse, so start by finding a burned fuse, replace it with same size, and then do this: Without turning the key on at all, try your lights and see if they work... if they do not, and the fuse blows immediately, that wire is shorted to ground, either touching a metal part of the inner dash or hard-wired incorrectly to the radio. It may be that it was mistaken as a ground wire during the change-out.

If after replacing the fuse, the lights come on, then turn the radio on and see if it blows. Whether it does nor not, the first place to check is the last place changes were made. If you return to check the wiring to the radio and cannot find the problem, disconnect the radio entirely, turn the lights on with a good fuse in place, then reconnect the wires one by one, keeping an eye on the lights, when they go off (fuse blows), that is the wire that is either mis-assigned or can be left off. Most newer radios are all led and it is not necessary to send a signal to it from the lights. Good Luck!

lamp failure light on possible because the SECOND filament in your STOP/TAIL Light Bulb is burned out- change one side and check fail lamp again- repeat on other side- fail lamp works off of resistance-burned or blown bulb is only way it lights unless you have a wiring issue

That is usually an indication of a headlight switch with a dirty or failing rheostat or a loose wire or fuse.
Try turning the headlight switch left and right a few times to brighten and dim the dash lights and see if that helps. If it does the rheostat was just a bit dirty.
If it does not, then you may need to replace the headlight switch.
Before buying a new switch, check the associated wiring and fuse to ensure you have good connections.

There is an illumination fuse located in the dash fuse box. It is typically a 5amp fuse. Pull the fuse out and see if it is blown. Try replacing the fuse and see if it blows again, if it does there may be an additional problem.

Get a test light,and ground the clip,put the tip of the test light on the dash light fuse.Turn the knob to dim,and brighten the dash lights,see if the test light reacts with the dimmer switch.If it does not,then there is a wire jumped to by pass the dash lights somewhere.If the test light dims,and brightens,then there is a wire of going to the dash,or bad connection where the harness clips into the dash.

You need a new headlight switch most likley. Try turning the knob to dim and brighten quickly and push in and out on the headlight between parking and headlights.

try moving the switch there should be a dial beside the head light switch that dims and brightens the dash lights or turn the headlight switch easy or else a fues is blown

look on the left of dash for the switch you turn your interior lights on turn it see if your dash light will brighten.turn up enough brighten dash lights. dont turn until it stop or your interior light will stay on.
