My husband's truck keeps dying on him. It will completely cut out with no warning (sometimes up to 6 times a day). We bought a small diagnostic machine and the code that came up was for the speed sensor which we changed. This seemed to work for 2 weeks and now it is dying on him again. We have just started our own business and rely on this truck so please help as we are clueless.
People around us keep telling us that the fuel pump is the usual problem with Dodge but the diagnostic machine is telling us it is good.
Thanks for the help,
Kerry and Aj Barragan

Hi. I had the same problem on my 2004 Dodge Ram 3500 Cummins. I went to the dealer and they did a bunch of diagnostics and they replaced my fuel pump. At the same time they put in a retrofit kit that moved the fuel pump to the inside of the gas tank. I have not had the problem since. The cost was about $1,200, but my 100,000 mile drivetrain warranty covered it and I had to pay the $100 deductible.

do you still have the old style lift pump. located on the fuel filter housing or has it already been updated to in tank style. sounds like that to me. i've done a ton of them. chrysler has a whole conversion kit for this mod

I had same problem with 99 Durango.
It was an easy and cheap fix -- I went to AutoBeef.com and learned common problem with 98 & 99 Durango -- sounds exactly like your problem. I was encouraged to replace the PCM "Brain" and was advised of an online Refurbished PCM dealer located in Florida. You can google as I forgot the name. I called them and they confirmed an easy fix w only 3 screws to change out the brain. The cost was < $300.00 and my son & bro changed it out. Runs great ever since -- I was so grateful for AutoBeef.com for delievering this information to me. My car would die on me without warning -- totally unreliable and dealer and mechanics had no clue. Your problem sounds like mine -- call the PCM reburbishing company and see what they think.

You said you have fuel flowing from the inlet line of the injection pump? But not at the injector lines?
