you probably have a bad motor mount. Look under the hood, passenger side of engine compartment cast iron mount with rubber insert. Is the rubber insert worn visually inspecting. If you cannot tell, have a friend start the car, emergency brake on, foot on brake, shift from park to drive, does the motor jump in the mount? shift from drive to reverse, does it jump again. If so bad mount, local auto repair store should carry. you will have to jack up the engine carefully not much and not directly on oil pan, you just have to relieve the weight on the mount to replace. several m10 bolts, 15mm socket to remove. retighten fasteners to 58+/- 9Nm of torque. good luck.
Motor & Transaxle Mounts --- may be the issue If so--- replace them--- all Put your foot on the brake & put into fwd & rev, while someone looks under the hood at the motor movement Have them off to the side & torque the motor some against the brake Also check cv axle joints--- once the mounts are taken care of
broken motor mount.have someone put it in drive step on brake and as they step on gas watch motor to see if it jumps,i would also have tranny fluid and filter changed
Ok I am not there to see the car but let me give you a tip on how to see them. have someone sit in the car with the emergency brake on and his foot on the brake holding the car in one spot. You stand outside looking in from the side of the car and not the front. Have your helper put the car in forward gear and have him splowly give it gas. The motor will raise up on one side or the other. If your one the wrong side have him hold up and walk to the other side. have him do it again while you look and see what is keeping the motor from jumping out of the car. that is where the motor mount is for that side. Then do the same thing in reverse and go to the other side again and see where the mount is on that side. let me know if this helped you locate them. I need a thumbs up, Raz
my 2000 mustang 3.8 also had a bad vibration. after many trial and errors we replaced the harmonic balancer..not too hard but requires the "special" tools...and you have to buy it from the manufacturer. my car ran like a dream.
check front motor mounts. Hold brake and put in reverse then accelerate and let up on gas. do yhe same in forward gear.if you hear a thud a motor mount is broken with hood open you can see the motor lift up.. Acceleration causes engine to lift and drop. good luck
REPLACE MOTOR MOUNT IF YOU ALREADY HAVEN'T , HAVE HIM CK THE TRANS MOUNTS AS WELL AND TO INSECT THE HARMONIC BA-LANCER TO SEE IF IT HAS SHIFTED OR IS MISALIGNED
