Battery light is on, battery is new and alternator has been replaced on my 2003 ford escape

Check the alternator fuse,make sure all wires on alternator are in the right place, have auto zone check your alternator,

Check battery to motor and battery to body ground bolts for corossion, also check motor to body ground strap for corossion. Bad ground can cause all kinds of electrical gremlins

I was just reading on another forum about the Ford Escape Battery lights staying on. They said it was the overflow reservoir being low. My 2003 Ford Escape XLS battery light has been on for 6 months. I went to autozone last Wednesday and they said my battery was bad. I got it replaced yesterday. Battery light still on.
So tonight after I read the other forum, I figured it would be worth checkng. My reservoir was about 1/2 inch below the full line. I filed it about 1/4 inch above the full line.....lo and behold, the battery light went off when I started the car. How freakin stupid. But there is your answer.

The battery light indicates insufficient voltage. I would recheck all the battery connections to be sure they are clean and tight. I would also have the alternator output tested, since the light will come on if the alternator is not providing sufficient voltage to keep the battery charged. Take the vehicle to an autoparts store and they will test the battery condition and alternator output for free. Sorry for your trouble and I hope this helped, Best wishes.

the battery light has nothing to do with the battery, it indicates that the charging system (which is the alternator) is not producing enough power to cancel the light in the dash, have Autozone or Kragen test the charging system again, the rebuilt alternator may be defective that u just installed or a connector to it has a bad connection.

most likeley needs an alternator.not very easy to chang on that vehicle. hope this helps, good luck.
