If you mean length, not necessarily. You'll have to measure from where the tail shaft bolts to the main transmission case. If you mean the T400 driveshaft sliding into the 700R4, then it shouldn't be a problem. Hope this helps.

Can I put a 94 4l60e in a 90 model Chevy pickup

http://mmerlinn.com/catalog/lilscribbs77/gm_9l6/gm9l6010.htm and the trans has to have same features-4x4 to 4x4 output shafts different between 4x4 and 4x2 also will need to modify if different .engines as well as some harness mods and programming When the 700-R4 was introduced in 1982, it had minor performance issues GM engineers had to work through. Just five years later, the 700-R4 had undergone several engineering refinements and gained a more favorable reputation with enthusiasts. By 1990, the 700-R4 became a popular swap for the classic Turbo 350. That same year, the 700-R4 became known as the 4L60, the same transmission, but with a new designation. In 1993, the 4L60 became electronically controlled and known as the 4L60E. Even though the 700-R4 transmission isn’t being manufactured by GM anymore, it remains one of the best transmissions around.

I have a 1986 Chevy S10 4X4, Auto.Transmission, Reverse & 1st gear are fine, but will not come outta 1st gear. What can I do? Thanks for any help!

Normal 0 To take off and put back the transmission cost around $700 labor. To open up, repair and put things together, parts and labor start at $800. So the total would be at least $1500.
Buying a used Transmission for $300, and replace the bed one for $700, would cost you $1000 at least.
The question is:
Could you find a dissent transmission of a 1986 Chevy S10 4X4.
The answer is:
Chanced are slim or none.

I have a 305 (5.0) engine my problem is the starter wont work i got it off of a 1985 camaro and it was made for a 350 but the motor i bought come out of a 79 oldsmobile and i got it in my 86 trans am with...

There are two different size flywheels used on Chevy engines. The straight across bolt pattern is for the small diameter flywheel the staggered pattern for the large flywheel. The block is drilled for both starter patterns. The F- bodies in 1986 came with a small flywheel-so you should need a starter with the straight across pattern. The depth doesn't change ,just the distance away from the crank.

Engine swap 5.0 vortec to 350 non computer controled

The computer runs the Transmission from the signals the throttle position sensor, crank shaft sensor, and cam shaft sensor. Your going to have to replace the transmission with an older transmission like the turbo 350 or turbo 400. When it's time to get the car e-tested, that's when your going to run in to problems, due to the year your Chevy is. If your Chevy was a 1985 then you could go with the carb system but with being the newer OBD11 system, your going to have an off road only vehicle with that swap. Why would you want to replace the engine with the 350 carb set up??? There are things you can do to tweak the one in your Chevy free of charge.

Non working speedo in 88 chevy pickup

Did the transmission you put in have the the pick up on the output shaft. Pull out the vss and see if the pick-up is on the shaft or a speedo gear is on the shaft. If it has a gear, you will have to change it to a pick up wheel. The older 700 transmissions used gears.
