Question about 2004 Lexus RX 330
Can an Error 04 CD player indicator be fixed on my own or only in dealer?
Hey...it's easy to fix. Open the fuse box under the hood. Find the audio fuse. Pull it out for 10-15 minutes to reset the cdplayer. Plug it back in and problem solved. If it still does not work just change the fuse. I had that problem and had to search high and low for a solution and found it
on some web site. IT WORKED...will save you $800 that Lexus charges to do the same thing.

Turned on the ignition and hurray !!!! it start working !!!! Ok the problem was i had a cd that i purchased from asia had a thick label on it and believe it or not that sticker or the label on the cd start melting and crumbled and started peeling off the cd cause of the heat and thats when it got stuck, WOW I pulled it out and boy it was messed up crumbled and almost bend ! Trashed it right away.

The 'Error 04' started shortly after I inserted a new CD. The player was set on 'random" and would play util the 'Error 04' came up. I couldn't do anything. Then I pulled the radio fuse, with the key off, (No.25) on my RX 330. I was able to start the CD player and I ejected all of the discs. I put in six new discs and the player worked great. I inserted the suspect disc again and got the 'Error 04" again. I did the fuse thing again and was able to eject the bad disc and put another one in. So far it's working fine. I think the problem was the disc and by pulling the fuse the radio reset itself. Hope it works for you. Owen
