Break / hazard light fuses keep blowing

My cadillac has no break or hazard lights, the fuses keep blowing and cannot find the solution to this problem. When the car is in reverse, the lights will work however as soon as the break pedal is depressed, the 20 amp fuse blows immediately.

You have a short on the positive [hot] wire to the brake lights, done any drilling or trailer wiring? The brake light switch is doing it's job, [grounding the switch circuit], unless the brake light switch is wired hot and is grounding out. [this may be possible as I am not familiar with cadillacs.] If you had a short in the hot wire for the brake lights, they would stay on all the time. I would check the brake light switch.

Brakelight fuse keeps blowing and lights will not work

Check for a shorted wire in the trunk compartment. The trunk lid wiring can become fragile over time and the wires will break and make contact with metal surface and blow the fuse.

My stop hazard fuse keeps blowing on my 95 chevrolet k2500 Cheyenne. I do not have cruise control. i have disconnected the break relay and my turn/hazard switch. It still blows, yet when i unplug my break...

check the AMPS for all your fuses sometime a low amps fuse in the wrong slot can blow otherones. also sometime you can increase the fuse that keep blowing. try that first if that do not work you might need to run and electrican test on your fuse box to check if you have a short. also check your fuseable link on the fuse panel under the hood.

1998 GMC Sierra Signal Fuse Blowing

it seems you have a short in either one of the lights or interlock. all are connected to the same fuse. trace the wiring from the fuse box back to the component. Using a test light test in between the wires. check for any obvious breaks in the wiring.
