2004 Dodge 2500 RAM Quad-cab. Only master window switch works. Child window lock off. Power (pass through) from driver power-window-lock control OK. . Passenger and other door switches work. Fuse OK. Where is the disconnect?

Hi - replaced passenger switch with new one. No change. No apparent power to switch using light-tester. Rear windows do not work either (except from master). Power through master window panel door lock intact with tester (goes on and off with button) (not voltmeter tested). Power interuption somehwere in between (?). Is there an in-line fuse on the power feed to the 'auxiliary' windows? Perhaps a short after some rain got into a passenger switch and shorted back towards the fuse (there is only one fuse for the windows - ther must be some in-lines - no?) Thanks for your thoughts. JR

I can't see clearly nor print clearly - and I'm not an electrician. CAn I see the fuses (if ther eare fuses) or do I really need to see an electrician about this? None of the windows work from their own controls (except driver). Driver controls will work all other windows. That should narrow it to one fuse off the master switch at the driver side, no? (if it is a fuse). Where would that be? Other wise, I'm losing the battle ...

The switch itself may be faulty. Have you tested it with an ohmmeter? Have you tested power to the passenger switch with a voltmeter?

You may have a short in the child lockout

  • Anonymous Oct 05, 2010

One fuse controls all the windows, switches, and circuits. If the driver side works, then fuse is good. The problem is a short in the wiring likely in the module that connects all the window circuits together. Testing with a voltmeter and ohmeter will need to be done to find the short. The working drivers window switch should be tested first.

I have a 2004 dodge ram 2500, the passenger window switches don't work

Not uncommon, the master window switch on the driver's door goes wonky. Mine had same problem (2003 1500 4.7L long cab) and simply replacing the master switch fixed both bad passenger switch intermittent problems. Easy swap, cheap at the dealer.

Hi i have a 2003 Ram 2500 4x4 quad cab. the passeger and rear power windows work only from the drivers control not from their switches, i've tried the lockout switch in up and down positions several times...

sounds like the switch went bad. all power goes thrugh the drivers switch before the pasangers side. you my have to check to see if you have power at both switches. you'll probly find that one is bad or corroded

Got new master switch, now windows work but window lock-out dosent

Could be when they replaced the master they didn't make sure your connectors whee all tight when they put it back together.

Or, you need a new switch therre as well.

Very hard to tell without having the vehicle right in fornt of me.

I hope this helps you some.

Power windows will not roll down or up

If your other switches don't work, and the master is not locked, you need a new master as it is keeping the others from working.

2004 ram 3500 window will not go up.

I would look at the switch, did you check just the drivers switch only? Check the switch at the door also. If it goes down, then the motor is good and the switches just reverse the polarity.
