The VIN (vehcile identification number in the radio has to match the VIN for the car it is in. To do this you will need a Tech 2 (GM scanner) to do this, The radio also has to be correct for the car.

Step 5: Enter the six digit code you retrieved in steps 2 and 3 followed by the * key. They must be in order. You will be given a four digit radio code. Write down the radio code.
Step 6: Start your vehicle and turn on the radio. Using the Minute and Hour buttons, enter in the four digit radio code to your stereo system. Press the AM/FM button to unlock your stereo.
How to Unlock a GM Radio Step 1: Start the vehicle and turn on the radio. The radio will display "LOC" indicating the Theftlock system is activated.
Step 2: Press and hold preset buttons 1 and 4 for ten seconds. (If you don't have a fourth preset button, press and hold presets 2 and 3.) The radio will display a three digit number. Write this number down.
Step 3: Press the AM/FM button. Your radio will display a second three digit code. Write the second code down. You will now have a six digit code.

Many dealers will give you your radio code for free, while others may charge a small fee. If your dealer is charging a larger fee, consider calling another dealer or doing a Google search for sites offering GMC Radio codes. They usually charge a small (around $10) fee.
Step 5: Start your vehicle and turn on the radio. Press the Hour button on the radio until the first two number of the code appear. Next, press the Minute button until the last two numbers of the code are displayed. Once all four digits appear, press the AM/FM button to unlock your stereo. If radio display reads "INOP" while the vehicle is on, too many incorrect radio codes have been entered. To remove "INOP" from your display and unlock your radio, you must leave the key in the On position for one hour. Once you've retrieved your radio unlock code, write it down for future use. Your radio code will not change and having it handy will save from going from the radio code retrieval process again.

I got an Audi TT Turbo Model 2000 The radio Bose Audi concert is giving safe on the screen and nothing else what should I click on to reset the radio so I can put the code. Thanks

  1. Turn on radio. The radio display shows "SAFE".
  2. Press the FM2 and RDS buttons simultaneously and hold until "1000" shows on the display. Release the buttons. Do NOT press these buttons again, otherwise the radio will consider "1000" to be the code.
  3. Use Preset buttons 1 ... 4 to enter the four-digit code number from your radio card. Preset button 1 corresponds to the first digit, Preset button 2 corresponds to the second digit, etc. Each press of the button increments the number by 1.
  4. Once the code shown on the display is correct, press the FM2 and RDS buttons simultaneously and hold until the word "SAFE" appears in the display, then release the buttons.
  5. The radio should unlock and be usable shortly afterwards.
  6. If an incorrect code is entered, the word "SAFE" appears, first flashing and then continuously. You can repeat the above steps to unlock the radio once more, the number of attempts will be shown in the display. If an incorrect code is entered again, you radio will be locked for about one hour. After one hour - the radio must stay on and the key must remain in the ignition lock - if the display goes out, the you can repeat the above procedure to unlock again. The cycle - two attempts, one hour lock-up - still applies.

What are the steps to getting the safe mode off the radio in a 2002 volkswagen cabrio

Perform the steps in exactly the following order:
1. Turn on the Radio. "Safe" will appear in the display.
2. After 3 seconds, the number "1000" will appear in the display.
3. Use the radio station preset buttons 1 to 4 to enter the code number found on your Radio Card. (which was in the first page of Sound manual )
Use preset button 1 to enter the first digit in the code number. Use button 2 to enter the second digit, etc. The value range for each of the 4 digits is "0-9". The digit will increase by 1 each time you tap the preset button. The number returns to "0" after 9".
4. After you finish entering the code, press the right side (">") of the SEEK button for longer than 2 seconds until you hear an audible signal.
5. If you have entered the code number correctly, "LSM" will appear in the display. (It just was the radio channel indicator and then everything was working as usual).

Once the code is set, push the unlock button; depending on model the unlock button will be either CD, TAPE, or AM/FM.

Ive got a factory radio reading of i have code how do i reset to put in code

When you turn on the radio, it will say "codE" on the display. You have the 4-digit code number for your radio, to enter the first digit, press the "1" button on the radio the number of times until the first digit matches. For example, if your code is "2156" then, press radio preset button 1 two 2 times, then press radio preset button 2 one time, then radio preset button 3 five 5 times and finally preset button 4 six times.
THEN if the display is correct (should show 2156 in this example), press TAPE button. You should hear a beep and the radio should be working. If you make a mistake and enter a wrong code, the display will show "Err". You have 3 tries to get this correct or the radio may be toast. These are the steps for the stock radio in my 1995 GSX and they've worked for me each time I've lost battery power. Good luck!

Car adio

On the code, I assumed all cars had different codes. In case this is not true, try 1791. The radio prompts for the code. Using station preset buttons #1-4, enter the four didit code. Push #1 once, then #2 seven times, etc. After all four didgits entered, I pushed the "CD" button, and voila. Good luck!

Entering the radio code

The 1-4 buttons on your station preset are used to input the numbers. The one is the first number, the 2 is the second number, etc. Once you have the entered the 4 digit code, you have to push the tape button. If the code is correct, your normal display show.
