Key codes trying to get key code to make keys for vehicles or buy a key code book if there is one

The easiest, and possibly cheaper method, is to take you vehicle details to a dealership and ask for the code only. The dealer WILL charge for this. They will probably try to sell you a key as well.
If it is for a replacement key, some good auto electricians can plug into the OBD2 system on your vehicle and 'clone' a key for you without the code. This will usually cost you the price of a new key and it being coded to the vehicle.

No idea here to be honest i think you have two seperate problems here so firstly try entering the radio code as i think you have disconnected the battery ,now as for the non starting then look in the book that came with the vehicle and their should be a code for the key to reprogramme the immobilisor where you turn the key in the lock so many times to the left and right to release it and only these vehicles have this except some rovers which are now defunct as you no doubt know .

you may have to tow to dealer but will give you 2 quick options before you have to do that.

1. if you have any other vehicle keys on your key ring remove your specific key(s) and see if light turns off.
2. if you were given a spare try it.


If this fails to work your key has lost its code or ignition switch is not receiving the transponder code for your key.
your key send out a signal to your ignition which then the PCM(powertrain control module) will allow your vehicle to start.
this is a vehicle theft safety issue. only your key(s) given to you when sold the vehicle can start the vehicle.
and you must in order to resolve these issues as stated above. but may be required towing to a Ford authorized service center to repair faulty ignition switches(very rare).other wise your key has lost it's transponder code and will need to be replaced with a new key and then coded to your vehicle.

Hi as you can not buy a key for your car you have to take the door locks out and with the key which starts the car take them to a locksmith so he can code the locks to the existing key.

Have you tried the Dealership, give them your vin number and they should be able to cut you a key through the code book, just tell them you lost your keys.

Go buy a book on the car. The codes will be in the book. You can sometimes get the code by turning the key on and off and then watch the engine light blink. The blinks are numbers. 1 Blink means number one, 2 blinks mean number 2 then so on. There is a plug underneath your dash by the drivers seat. A parts store usually does this for free. In the US you can go to Autozone for this. When you do the key on and off trick you sometimes have to jump the plug in 2 spots. Without having the book on your car, I can not tell you exactly how it is done. You can try the key on and off trick.
