It should not matter and Yes you are Totally getting the Run Around! The only thing that IS True is that the Eletronic Transmissions like the one that you have are Very Prone to Problems But, They should have dealt with this Problem before and had it Fixed. They just Cleared the Trouble Codes Before Writing them Down and need for the Light to come back on to find the Codes again. But, Like I said before, They should know by the ACTIONS of the Tranny what the Problem was and How to fix it. This is my Professional Opinion, It will be fine until the Light Comes on again, If it does take it back and tell them that you want to speak to the General Manager for that Region. They will find the Problem and Repair it. I have seen it Before. MAKE THEM FIX IT. And do NOT Pay that Rediculous Price for the Repair. They should Prorate the Cost from the Money that you have already Paid them.
SOURCE: there is no dip stick to check the transmission
No there is not. There is on a fill hole for rebuild and fill purpose's.
SOURCE: Saturn Security System - Have Lost all Vehicle Power
Had a Saturn Relay when the battery went bad the security lock activated and could not start the car and the only solution the dealer said was to tow it to them. No wonder saturn is about to be cut by GM. They ran this once good service car company into the ground.
SOURCE: 1999 Saturn SL1 manual...shifter cable bushing
Hello:
NAPA sells the replacement bushing ($20) better than Saturns $200 to replace both cables.
Good luck
SOURCE: where's the transmission dipstick on a 2000 saturn sl
The Saturn L series automatic transmissions do not have a dipstick. They are the "new breed" of transmissions that are SUPPOSED to be trouble free. There is a plug on the passenger side of the transmission by the drive axle It is 11mm bolt. start the vehicle in park on a level surface or hoist...at operating temp pull out the plug Fluid should just trickle out of the plug hole If no fluid comes out add fluid to trans until it does...Where do you add??? Red plug on top/center of trans. Plastic plugthat threads in Add fluid there....Good luck
