Cold weather - Must grind and grind and grind the starter before engine will start. Warm weather no problem. Several mechanics have looked at it, but still no solution. Must I move to Florida or can someone help me,
Haha move to Florida. You should not have to. If warm weather starts are no problem then the problem centers around the cold start fuel-air mixture.
I'd ask for a check on the cold-start injector or valve (if fitted), the thermo-time switch, or the intake air temp sensor.
I have read of problems with dealers jerking owners around with this problem, it is not unknown with this car.
Try runing so fuel injector cleaner through it and see if that helps plus if u have not had a tune up try giving it one anbd put a new air filter in it

i have a 1998 cabrio and mind does the same thing but only in cold weather or when it's wet outside.. either snow is melting or raining... i have to grind and grind and grind.. and then it starts.. but then i have to let it sit for a while.. so it won't stall out... we thought it had something to do with water getting into the engine?? i haven't had it looked at yet.. but nothing is popping out at us that's wrong with it.. when looking at the engine. My spark plugs are atleast 2 years old.. perhaps that is my problem?
