Stay away from the Kia Carnival. I have discovered that all the Kias, regardless of age, have terrible over heating & engine problems, expensive to fix and unreliable.

The Carnival is a best seller in this market but it has suffered some noteworthy problems. A significant number needed new engines under warranty. They're far cheaper than most others but even so they're hard for me to recommend. Bear in mind the auto is far preferable to the manual. .

Really? You actually want to buy one?

  • Anonymous Jan 17, 2011

I'm not sure you actually read my comment...........the first line says "STAY away from them",,,,,,,nothing in this advice says to purchase them, but if it is the ONLY option, then go for the auto......but only if its the last resort.....

Need the code for mobis hm 3700

I have a Kia Carnival 2005 KVII. I had to contact Kia to get the radio code and give the vin number. Note # you will only get 3 attempts.
My Kia has a Mobis HM3700 and the Code I was given is 1812.

To insert code:
1 look at the front of the Radio you will see a screen, and at the bottom of the Right hand side is a set of channel select buttons.

they look like this
1 2 3
4 5 6

Each button from button number 1 to number 4 will cycle through from 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, to 0 each time you press these buttons you will change the number on the screen.

When you have the numbers shown below

Button numbers 1 2 3 4
Numbers showing 1 8 1 2

Than press Number 5 button to accept

Thinking of buying an '07 Kia Carnival. Have heard that the earlier models had some pretty serious issues. Any thoughts?

If your buying a diesel then no problems as they are easy to repair and a nice motor to drive ,a petrol one in europe ?well in my neck of the woods anyway i have never seen a gas guzler around town (alicante spain)

Hi i own 2004 kia carnival it has done 46k just wanted to know when i should change the timing belt ?? thanks manny

A good rule of thumb for replacing timing belts is 50,000 miles. Some will say thats to soon but prevention can save you ALOT of money. Think about changing the belt soon.
