Sounds simple
placement of antenna is important this will determine which wires to use
most antenas are in the trunk of vehicle with a wire clip to connect or disconnect
tools needed
test light
find your wire clip running from old antena this will be where test light will be used one side of clip is full powered the other is key powered find good ground tip the test light on first prong light stays on this is full power other will be key powered

now your looking for the simple color wires ok on the back of your sterio there is an atenna wire which is blue this will power on only when sterio is on the other wire
you use test light to find without key in take your test light and find a permannent powered full on wire hot supply then connect antenna into these 2 things

at top the reason i mentioned this is cause the old power antena you can find the right leads in the trunk area where new antenna going to be placed with the test light you might need a second person to help you testing wires you in the back and them in the front turning the key on when you need it it makes things simpler with 2 people
i hope this helped you in your quest for knowledge

F5TF-19B132-BA Ford Radio Pin out

The stereo pin layout can be obtained from the car dealership, also a repair manual should have the stereo wiring harness layout in it , the stereo harness adapter for installing non oem stereo, found at the local auto parts store will come with the wiring layout, wires are color coded too, sometimes the stereo harness or stereo harness adapter will have small writing on the wires itself, showing you what that wire is for, and where it should connect.

Basically it comes down to, obtaining the stereo wiring layout, read the description on the wires, and properly connect them together, then solder the wires or crimp them, I like to solder mine with soldering wire for electronics, and put shrink tubes to protect the wires, put the shrink tubes on the wires before soldering together, and ensure the shrink tube is the proper size awg wire gauge.

You will also need, aftermarket face adapter kit and antenna adapter, if installing aftermarket stereo.

Hope this helps and enjoy the stereo :)

Need to know the wires to install a deck for 97

Red is power to from ignition to cd deck
Yellow is direct power from battery to cd deck to hold the memory.
Black is ground
Blue is only needed if you are hooking up an amplifier.
I always suggest buying a wire harness quick connect system for $5, then you won't have to cut origional car wiring. If by chance you are taking the original wire route, then go to installer.com to find which wires on the car are for what.

Radio & anttena will not come on with ignition.

From the factory wiring there will be a red/white wire with a constant 12v and an ignition switched 12v wire which is red/gray. Hook those to corresponding wires on the aftermarket wiring harness. You may have the constant and switched wires backwards. Also the antenna trigger wire (usually blue on aftermarket radios) should be hooked up to the green/red wire on the factory harness.

For a complete wiring schematic check out www.the12volt.com

Trying to install an aftermarket stereo 1994 GMC 1500

You have to unplug the old radio. The radio isn't the part in the dash. That is just the control to the radio. The radio is actually under the dash above the accelerator pedal. It should have the power wires, speaker wires and antenna wire going to it.

Installing a aftermarket stereo

This should get you going:

The 2 Blue with a Yellow trace are the POWER wires

The Grey wire is the ACC

The Pink wire is Frontt Left +

The Violet wire is Frontt left -

The Green wire is Front Right +

The Blue wire is Front Right -

The Black wire is Rear Left +

The Yellow wire is Rear Left -

The Red wire is Rear Right +

The White wire is the Rear Right -

The Brown Wire is the GROUND

The Black with a Red tracer goes to the auto antenna

The Pink with a Blue Tracer goes to an aux amp, if you have one.
