Figured it out all by myself. Checked the nozzles first. They were fine. The problem was interesting because the squirt failure would alternate between left and right sides. For a few days the left side wouldn't squirt; then the same would happen to the right. Sometimes both sides worked okay. There was never a total failure.
Obviously these symptoms eliminated electrical and/or pump problems.
On checking the T-connector that diverts fluid from the single hose to the two nozzles, I noticed that I could blow air through it (with my mouth more easily in one direction than the other. I guessed that there might be a tiny check-valve inside for the purpose of keeping the hoses to the nozzles filled so they can squirt without delay.
In any case, after investigating on and off for months, I found a simple plastic T-connector with the right dimensions, I installed it, and all is well. If there is any squirt delay owing to drain-back from the nozzles, it's only a fraction of a second in duration. I consider this a 100% fix,
It might not have some windshield fluid...add some water in the reservoir for the windshield and see if that works...
Good Luck!
why was that nasty rating?
please next time you can contact me for farther help :(
I apologize for that comment/ thumbs, but I've been working on vehicles for years::: first thing I did was check fluid check the fluid level, pump is pumping, no water leaks, like spraying out anywhere. Thinking there may be a restriction in the reservoir, but can"t figure how to get it out unless I drop the inner wheel well.
The spray nozzles might be jammed. Open up the hood and slowly detach the spray nozzles from the feed hoses, and then detach them from your car (there are usually two restraining screws). Clean the nozzles with a thin wire or pipe cleaner. Test them by blowing air through them. Then reinsert them in place and reattach the hoses.
If they still don't spray, check the feeder hoses for clogs. You can clean them in the same way.
or if the car was painted before...the nozzles could be clogged with some paint...bring like a needle and open the holes with it.
