If the person who suggested checking and cleaning the contacts are bad you may have to replace the switch. This could be a DIY project if you have easy access to the switch. Also if you can access it, you will need to get the part from the dealer probably. Some of the weird things only the dealer has. If you don't have easy access or if it requires dash removal, find a good trusted mechanic. You can screw more stuff up taking out a dash than you'll fix. Also some of the fuses are located in the engine compartment. Refer to your owner's manual for the correct location. Good luck.

Sun roof won't close 2004 Ford Explorer

The roof opening panel is an electronically operated panel that can be opened or closed by the roof opening panel switch. Actuating the switch in either a forward or rearward motion supplies a ground to the roof opening panel motor. The vent and soft-stop functions are controlled by the roof opening panel motor. These positions are obtained when an internal motor cam opens the roof position switch, removing the ground from the switch. The roof opening panel has an express open feature activated when the switch is pressed momentarily. The roof opening panel is closed by continuous activation of the switch until the sunroof stops movement. This function is controlled by the roof opening panel motor.

Sunroof will not close. Was working fine earlier today

The roof opening panel assembly uses an integrated motor and module to operate the roof opening panel. The roof opening panel motor and module are installed new as an assembly. The roof opening panel is an electronically operated glass panel that can be opened or closed by the roof opening panel switch. Actuating the switch in either a forward or rearward motion supplies a ground to the roof opening panel motor/module. The soft-stop function is controlled by the roof opening panel motor/module. The roof opening panel has 3 modes of operation, manual mode, express open and tilt. The express open feature is activated when the switch is pressed momentarily. The tilt feature is activated when the tilt switch is depressed. These functions are controlled by the roof opening panel motor/module.

My convertibe Audi A4 roof is not closing, it stopped 3/4 way, what do i do, i have tried pressing the buttons, back and forth?

Look in owners manual,it will show you how to raise/lower roof with tool end of dash driver side
Once you have the tool the best way to reset roof is to manualy lower it and lock rear cover
Two people helps to lower as you have to lift front of roof and lift rear
When rear metal cover is unlocked push roof fully down and lock cover
The roof should then work with the switch

Central locking and alarm going off changed battery on key and still not working

I think it's in the boot on A4's?

Could it have bee disturbed somehow (loading stuff into boot?) or got wet/damp?

Other things to look for are corrosion to wiring leading into the central locking ECU, which (depending on which A4 it is) could be in the NSF footwell behind the carpets and plastic trim panels. Some A4's are bad for "dry" soldered joints in the loom leading up to the module.

When you manualy operate the OSF door and get in, does the interior light come on and does the "Door open" dash information module still function corrently?

My trunk will not open on my wife's 2001 slk Mercedes. It's not locked. I think something is stuck in the lock. Can you help me?

your can check is it something stuck in the lock, first operate your roof either way, if you are going to open the roof as a first action boot lid will open to backward, let boot lid fully open and stop operating the roof, ignition off and have a look if something stuck you can see, if you are going to close the roof let close the roof and before close the boot lid stop operating roof switch, otherwise faulty boot lid lock, if faulty lock but you can try by mettle key blade which is in your electronic key, first take out mettle key from electronic key then insert mettle key in to the key hole in boot lid turn fully left and open boot if not work turn fully left and push it in, is this information helped you?

My CRX roof wont go up and down with the switch on the dash, yet the boot lid goes up with the key, cheecked fuses ok, cheecked plug and control box fault LED flashed seven times and then later on flashed...

7 blinks (roof lock switch, not operated by user)
9 blinks (rear window switch not operated by user)
These codes mean user has not undone roof locks or rear window is not fully closed
Providing that is not your problem, reset roof control unit
Turn ignition off
In under bonnet fuse box remove fuse 32 7.5 amp for 20 seconds
Refit fuse and check roof operation
This clears codes and resets roof
