Question about Chevrolet Silverado 1500

2 Answers

Our truck is a 2000 Chevy Silverado 1500, shortbed. About 1 1/2 years ago, it started making a "fast chirping" noise under the hood. It doesn't matter if we are idling, driving slow / fast, or braking, it does not stop while the engine is going. We have changed all the belts, pulleys, tensioner, and water pump. and it continues to "Chirp". We have put a lot of money into this truck because we cannot afford another one. Please let us know your suggestions. Thank You very much.

Without hearing the noise I can't tell if this is the problem. But just for giggles remove the air cleaner assy, plug the mass air flow sensor back in and start the engine. If the noise goes away the air box may be cracked as I had one cracked and that fixed that particular vehicle. Good luck.

Start by isolating the issue. Remove the belt and start the engine. If it is still there, it is likely resonating through the engine from the flywheel/flexplate. If it dies, spin the alternator. This was a problem in some of there cars. Let me know what you find.

2004 chevy silverado speedometer repair

I have researched this problem, I own a 2000, 1500 4x4 Silverado, My Speedometer bounces on occasion. They have had recalls for years on this, It could be the grounds, mostly on the drivers side " that's every ground", On some the 20amp radio fuse under the hood effects the cluster. GM was replacing them, but if it isn't the problem you are back at square one. Also the harness was faulty. I would check for recalls first. Hope this helps.

Fuse box 2000 Chevy silverado

there are like 3 for a 2000 chevy silverado. 1 on left side of dash accessible only when door is open. 2 on right side of dash, not sure those fuses are applicable to you tho, and 3 under hood beneath a plastic cover that you snap off by pulling on.

Changing serpentine belt on 2000 chevy silverado 1500 4.8 v8

The belt has tension applied to it from an idler pulley arm. you need to release tension by using a socket and ratchet on the nut on the idler pulley. Release tesion and slide belt off . Make sure you have the diagram for serpentine belt. it is usualy under the hood. If not make a diagram yorself before removing belt.

My 2000 chevy silverado 1500 is hard to start at times and when it starts the gas pedal sticks

First thing to do is look under the gas peddal to see if one of the kids toys got under there and is jamming something up?
Then try taking WD 40 and spraying insie and out under the hood where ever the gas peddal linkage is connected to one another. Let me know after this if it did any good and we'll try some other things,
If you already fixed it let me know and please leave me a thumbs up for the effort, Raz
