Yes it does usually is inside the black plastic part of the key if you notice a piece of it missing and the transponder his ball doubt you would have to get another one

My 03 Ford Escape theft light flashes and will not start, what will fix this issue? Tested battery-good, reseated battery connection with key in start position, cycled key from off to on in succession 8...

Taking the vehicle to a qualified repair shop that has the diagnostic tool to read the DTC'S - diagnostic trouble code's . Then they can diagnose the problem . None of the thing's you tried will work , not for anti-theft systems , not suppose to. The computer isn't seeing the correct transponder code or the anti-theft module is the problem . Having the vehicle checked by a qualified service tech is the only way to resolve your problem .
Ford's PATs - Passive Anti-Theft System Information. Permalink
Many Ford trucks, vans and suvs use PATs (passive anti-theft) keys. These keys prevent someone from copying your key to a blank and using the blank. There is a small chip in the key which the vehicle must recognize before it will start.
PATS is Ford Motor Company's passive anti theft system. In 1996 it started showing up on select models of Ford and Lincoln Mercury vehicles. The keys for these vehicles have a tiny radio frequency transponder imbedded in the plastic Head.

When you attempt to start the vehicle, the onboard computer sends out a RF signal that is picked up by the transponder in the key. The transponder then returns a unique RF signal to the vehicle's computer, giving it the ok for the vehicle to start and continue to run. This all happens in less than a second, and is completely transparent to the vehicle operator. It is a very effective system that does its job without the vehicle owner having to think about it, or modify his / her usual routine.

Can i bypass the ignition safety lost key 01 ford escape xlt

Sorry you can't. Ford's suck because you have to have two keys to reprogram the security to the keys. Last one I had done cost about $200. Dealer only.

Key chip transponder

no it won't, there is a transponder, a good locksmith will be able to remove the broken key from the lock and reset your transponder from the old key

Key only goes half way into my 2003 ford escape will not start or turn the car on.

i would go back to the dealer especialy if it is a chiped key in wich the chip in the key sends a signal to the computer in the vehicle completing the cercuite. theys keys can be costly. if you bought an aftermarket key not from the dealer, its a bad cut.
