I drive a 08 silverado and the egine hot ac turned off but the engine was not overheating

I would go have it looked at, the warrenty should cover it.

Are you saying the engine is overheating? If so, check out the cooling system (particularly the fluid, fluid level and thermostat). It is possible the temperature sensor failed again (maybe a wiring problem, incorrect or cheap sensor), but more likely the cooling system temperature is very close to the setting of the sensor, and depending on driving conditions, temperature could be bouncing up and down around the sensor setpoint.

My truck is doing the same thing, also the gas gage is no longer correct, it was all due to a wiring harness i believe, covered by warrenty

Check coolant level. if its ok than ride. If from expansion cap coming some flush or many many coolant aut check thermostat and check cooling fan system is sensor ok and relay.

Try checking any fuses and relays related to the cooling fans, replace the relays if your not sure if they are bad. The testing on that may be a little involved as there are a number of things that factor in controlling those fans and when they turn on and off. may be in cheaper for you to just have it diagnosed at a reputable repair shop.

I have the same problem with 50,000 miles.

A/C turns off when the engine overheats, if it isn`t actually overheating, your coolant temp. sensor could be bad, which would make the computer think that it is too hot.Look for overheating first then check that sensor if not overheating.
