One issue you may run into, when you go to pull down the oil pan, you need to remove the starter, there are 3 bolts directly above it. Another is you may need to improvise like I did to replace the oil pump on my 89'. The oil won't come down very easily because of the transmission pan, the a/c compressor, and the frame connecting to the radiator support. So what I did was put you car up on ramps, take down the starter, the plastic flywheel cover, and unbolt the 2 17mm bolts to the radiator support on the passenger side, then gently pry the beam down and the oil pan should be able to be removed easily.
I have the same problem with my 2002 grand am and its the oil sensor sending unit it has a straight stream coming out. It sits right above the starter and saturates the starter with oil. It looks you could be leaking oil in many different spots. It looks like an oxygen sensor and very easy to change. If the threads are frozen from heat spray it with wd40 and let it sit for a while before loosening the sensor. Some oil will come out, I suggest draining the oil and disconnecting the battery because the starter is so close to the sensor before doing this job. I hope this helps you.
very easy its located right in front, down towards the ground near the oil pan between the radiator and engine. two bolts and two wires hold it in . first you must disconnect the battery.
There is no V4 engine. I assume you are referring to an 2.2 Liter inline 4 cylinder. If you will follow the red positive (+) battery cable it will go directly to the starter.
dont run it anymore!!!
check oil is reaching the rockers & that there are no blocked feeed holes !
the pump may have been fitted too loose or the gaket is not sealing creating a pressure drop!
it may have some of the old bearing material enter the gallery,s & or the pump!
good luck Cheers Rob
